"Jason was prompt and courteous for appointments. He wants to be sure everything is done to customer's satisfaction. He is very busy so some patience is helpful. Anthony was also very patient and courteous. He did a wonderful job on the tile ! We had a few glitches with drain in tub which Jason changed for us graciously. We are very happy with finished product and hope to have him come again for lower level bathroom also.

"Joshua was on time and very nice. He checked out some plumbing issues I was having and made sure there weren't any major problems. They came out the very next day after I contacted them and thoroughly made sure there were no problems."

"The employees with Good Hands Construction, LLC did a fantastic job and will hire them with any other projects that we have. My husband's Man Cave is outstanding. We had painting done in the Dining Room and they built a deck and put in sliding patio glass doors. Will recommend them to anyone needing just about any type of work."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Costs range from $5 to $15 per square foot for installation and $150 to $600 for repairs, depending on the material and complexity.

Yes, you can install a backsplash directly onto drywall, provided the wall is properly prepped, clean, and dry. For best results, especially in kitchen areas, your walls should be made of moisture-resistant drywall, often called green board. If your current wall isn't moisture-resistant, it's recommended to replace it before installing the backsplash. For even greater protection against water damage, you can remove the existing drywall and install a tile backer board or cement board instead. While properly installed standard drywall is typically strong enough to support a backsplash, some local building codes may require water-resistant materials in kitchen areas, so it's a good idea to check.

Lack of durability is the most significant downside of painting tile. However, a painted tile backsplash doesn't see the same kind of action as, say, painted flooring tiles. For backsplashes, the durability of the finish is crucial because they often require cleaning. However, you can minimize the durability problem by using mild cleaners and water on the painted surfaces.

Like glass tiles, you will not need to seal most porcelain tiles, particularly if the porcelain is already glazed. It depends on quality. Porcelain is very water resistant, but it is not 100% waterproof. To avoid staining, some homeowners use a penetrating sealer. It is also a good idea to seal your grout. Unless you use epoxy grout, grout is very porous and can harbor bacteria, mold, and mildew.

Tiles last for around 100 years or more. Tiles on backsplashes can last even longer since they’re less likely to crack under foot traffic or from accidental drops, but even tile in high-traffic flooring can last a century or more with proper installation and upkeep. Porcelain tiles are denser and stronger than standard ceramic tiles, so they’ll last longer, often pushing past the 100-year mark.
