"Excellent work! Beyond my expectations. Mark, the owner, explained everything they do and helped select tile and flooring. James came out and in three days the bathroom was totally transformed from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan. The house is going on the market shortly and I think this gorgeous bathroom will help to sell it sooner. Contemporary Refinishing are real pros at what they do. Thank you, guys, you're the best."

"Smooth as could be from call to completion.  For $279 (Angie's List deal) they came in and reglazed our nasty old tub to a sparkling white new finish.  It was fast, too. Our old tub had been flaking and chipping - it looks BRAND NEW.  The one note of caution that I would say is the smell is AWFUL.  Thankfully, we have an attic fan and a bathroom fan.  It took about 2-3 days before going into the bathroom didn't knock you out. :)  The installer cautioned not to use bathmats on the tub anymore, since they could suction up the coating I guess.  There are options for non-slip aids though.

"Made second trip to stop water leak. 2 new toilets and leak from pipe behind wall to sink fixed by replacing pipe that was leaking. No more leaks! I am a happy camper! Would use them again and would recommend them."

"I had another plumber check my leak under the kitchen sink and I was told that I needed a new gabage disposal. I bought the garbage disposal and they installed it. A month later- same leak. J&E came out and said they barely screwed the disposal in- which is why it was leaking. Lesson learned, don't use a provider not on Angie's List!!!!"

"I'm so happy with the service! My 22x29 ft basement had water damage, there were storage boxes stuck to the basement floor. George and his assistant were able to remove all damaged items, including large furniture and mattresses, in 2 hrs. They had their own vehicle so I didn't have to worry about disposal. 12 years of junk has been removed and I can now see my basement floor. I appreciate the professionalism and the reasonable rate!"

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

For safety when installing a vanity, attaching the vanity to the wall is ideal to prevent it from moving. Typically, sinks must be 4 inches away from bathtubs. Also, most states require that you have 21 inches in front of a sink, but the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) recommends 30 inches for more comfort.

Costs depend on sink type, labor, plumbing modifications, and whether additional fixtures need upgrading.

If your sink is on an exterior wall that isn’t insulated, or if pipes travel through a cabinet against an exterior wall that prevents heated air from circulating around the pipes, the pipes can freeze, causing them to burst. The best way to avoid leaking sinks is to insulate the pipes and open cabinets in the short term to warm the water line up and prevent freezing.

In many ways they are the same thing, which is a large sink that has a tall front section, often called an apron. This is because the depth of the sink prevents splashing against you, serving the same purpose as an apron. While all farmhouse sinks are apron sinks, not all apron sinks are farmhouse sinks.

No, you don’t need to use plumber’s putty to install a sink drain. Other options are available, such as silicone putty or silicone caulk. Plumber’s putty is the traditional method and it’s easier to work with and easier to remove. It doesn’t need to dry before using. Silicone putty should dry before you use the drain.
