"Last fall I bought a house with a gas fireplace, and during the inspection it was noted the damper was blocked. The inspector thought that there was probably debris in the chimney causing the blockage. So I hired Absolute Clean to unblock and clean the chimney. They found that the blockage was caused not by debris but by a piece of mortar protruding from the masonry. In fact the chimney had probably never been used even though the house was 47 years old. So it turned out that there wasn't really a whole lot of chimney sweeping to do as far as build-up, but there was a little debris which they cleaned out, and they checked it to make sure that it was safe to use. They showed me how to turn it on safely and gave me some tips on positioning the logs, and where to buy gas logs if I wanted a different look. Very nice fellows.

"Terry came out and gave us a quote.   He was able to get out and get the work done within 2 days of giving us the quote.    He was on time.   Worked quickly and did an excellent job.   His clean up was thorough, so that other that the work he did you could not tell he had been here.  
The job did not take as long as he had estimated so the final bill came in below the estimate.   He also gave us some tips on how to maintian the chimney.  
We will definitely be calling him again for any other mansonry work.

"John Kelemen with Ferguson Roofing did a fantastic job. He came promptly, which I really appreciated because water was coming in through the roof. He examined the roof and took pictures of the source of the leak. When he showed me the pictures he explained what was wrong, what he would need to do to fix it, and how much it would cost. The repairs were very affordable and he went ahead and did them right away. If my roof needs any repairs in the future, I'll be sure to call Ferguson and request him. This is the second time we've used Ferguson Roofing--they replaced the roof on our previous home--and we were very happy with their work on that job too. "Once again (my 4th time using this company), Stan and his crew came through to save the day. Late last week during heavy rain, I heard rain water dripping into my chimney, and it was coming out of the Electrical outlet next to our bed. I went out to see my old aluminum vent had been pulled up by the wind, and had exposed my chimney directly to the rain. I texted Stan the next morning, and within 4 hours his crew showed up, climbed up 3 stories, and cut the old vent off, and capped the chimney so no more water could get in. They were very professional, first, they checked all the bricks, and put extra mortar into several that needed it. Then they carefully sealed on a large piece of concrete board. I use Stan Mauk Tuckpointing exclusively for my brick house now, I dont even ask for estimates. I just ask to have the work done, and pay them after they've completed it. "John Paul was reponsive and prompt to do the inspection for the estimate.  After the proposal was accepted, the miscommunication and then complete lack of communication began.  I was unable to get any kind of schedule or idea of when the work would be done.  Finally after more than 3 weeks with no contact, I started the process of getting some new estimates and started to accept a proposal with another contractor.  The following morning John Paul called me to say he would be out that morning to do the chimney work, and that he would do the finish work the following day.  This was all very unexpected.

"With the unusually wet spring this year, our hearts sank when we heard the dripping of water in our bedroom, kitchen, and living room. We called our roofing company, but they explained the problem was not the roof, but the solar assist panels. So, we checked the phone books for a company to repair them. Imagine our surprise when we discovered in this day of alternative energy we could not find a company willing to come look at the panels, much less discuss our problem. Finally, we called a solarium company, and he said, "We don't do that, but I know a handyman and if he can't fix it, no one can." We put in a call to Al Vitale and he was reluctant at first, but finally after some begging on our part, agreed to look at it in 2 days. Two days later Mr. Vitale and his assistant were there on our roof. Then he came in and asked, Has anyone looked in the attic for where the water is coming in? We felt like 2 pennies waiting for change. No, no one had ever checked the roof. Mr. Vitale climbed up in a wink, did his survey, came down, placed a call to a glass company to order the Plexiglas and gave us the quote. A couple of days later there they were again, handling every detail of the repairs. He called us 2 days ago and said he'd been very busy fixing homes for the summer selling season, but would return to repair the ceilings and repaint them in 2 1/2 weeks. We wish all tradesmen acted so professionally. I almost hate giving his name to this list, but feel everyone should find out why we recommend him without hesitation. Oh, our insurance claim representative was very impressed with the work and also with the reasonable price, so that's not just our opinion. The claim representative took Mr. Vitale's name and number and said he could keep him busy. I hope we'll still be able to call him when we need help again. Oh, no more rain coming in since he fixed it, and we've had lots of rain and hail since."
