"Our project became much more difficult when the original siding came off and exposed wood shingles that needed lots of repair and replacing. They have done an outstanding job."

"Basically we were VERY DISAPPOINTED in the workmanship of installers.  We picked Window World because we wanted a medium priced alternative to replace windows in our 60's house and also because Angie's list rated them high on installation.   Workers were polite and cleaned up after themselves, but after we started looking closely there were horrible problems with the installation.  We had quarter inch gaps in the trim boards around the inside of windows where the boards had been ,knocked loose in taking out the old windows.  Trim boards were loose and installers had not renailed or caulked around them.  Plus in bathroom areas where we had casement windows installed the caulking on inside (which is very visible) was uneven and rough.
We called the company back and a week later they came back to fix what hadn't been done.  They did get the loose boards and forgotten caulking done.  The bathroom caulking looks better but is still rough.  We haven't been able to sand it and paint because it is the flexile type of caulking that is rubbery.
Again -- we are disappointed, but I guess you get what you pay for.

"K and his team gave me a very reasonable quote on a small siding repair and gutter cleaning job and completed the work promptly and with great attention to detail. They were willing to take on this project even though it was a smaller job without trying to upsell me on a whole new set of siding or any bells and whistles. I will certainly be reaching out to them again for my next exterior project!"

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Most homeowners can remain in their homes during stucco removal, but expect noise, dust, and limited access to certain areas. For extensive projects or if hazardous materials are present, temporary relocation may be recommended for safety and comfort. Before removal begins, seal off the work areas and use air purifiers to minimize the spread of dust.

A standard drill will work just fine if you’re drilling small holes, and only a few of them. But anything with a diameter larger than 3/8 inch is best done with a hammer drill, since it is stronger, faster, and also makes your drill bits last longer. While you don’t absolutely need a hammer drill for stucco, it is a worthy investment if you think you might drill more holes down the road.

When cleaning stucco siding, it is recommended to use a pressure washer with a psi (pounds per square inch) between 1,500 and 2,000. This range provides sufficient power to remove dirt and grime without causing damage to the stucco surface. It's important to avoid using excessive psi as it can chip or crack the stucco.

Using a wider spray nozzle and keeping a safe distance of about seven to 10 feet from the siding helps ensure a gentle and effective cleaning process. Always follow the manufacturer's guidelines and adjust the psi accordingly based on the condition of your stucco and the specific requirements of your pressure washer.

The best adhesive that works on stucco is usually a product specified for use on stucco or concrete surfaces. The adhesive will need to be strong to grip the stucco, but should also wipe away clean when used in a temporary application. You can also consider using super glue or hot glue on stucco.

Homeowners insurance may cover the cost of siding repair or replacement, but coverage depends on the cause of the damage. Most policies will cover damage from a covered event, such as a storm, wind, hail, fire, natural disaster, or other impact damage. Your policy might pay for the full or partial cost of the repair or replacement. However, damage resulting from age, general wear and tear, or neglect is typically not covered, and you should expect to pay for those repairs out of pocket. It is best to review your specific homeowners insurance policy for full details on what is covered, how to file a claim, and what documentation is required.
