Customers say: Quick response

"Not only did my floors turn out far beyond what I thought was possible, I'm pretty sure, he's a floor artist. I received 4 estimates. I didn't go with the cheapest quote, I went with the one that was only slightly higher because my gut told me he was the guy that would do the best job. My gut was 100% correct. I can't even tell you how happy I am with the outcome. There is no other option of who to hire if you want your floors to look beautiful again. I'm really happy and would give 10 stars if I could."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

In St Louis, homeowners often overlook essential steps such as properly leveling subfloors, testing for hidden moisture, and addressing foundation cracks before installation. Skipping acclimation for hardwood or engineered wood can lead to gaps or cupping. Failing to check for asbestos in older homes, ignoring HOA flooring guidelines, or not arranging for debris removal can also cause unnecessary delays or complications.

Helpful?

St Louis offers a variety of flooring specialists, including hardwood refinishing experts, tile and stone installers, carpet professionals, and contractors focused on luxury vinyl or laminate. Some contractors specialize in historic home restoration, while others are experienced in basement waterproofing. There are also eco-friendly flooring specialists and full-service providers who offer design consultations and insurance restoration for damaged floors.

Helpful?

In St Louis, the combination of humid summers and cold winters causes hardwood and laminate flooring to expand and contract, making acclimation especially important—plan for at least a week before installation. Basements are prone to moisture due to spring rains, so using a vapor barrier is essential. Scheduling flooring installation during spring or fall helps minimize issues like warping, buckling, or gaps in your new floors.

Helpful?

In St Louis, entryways and mudrooms often require new flooring due to heavy use and exposure to rain or snow. Kitchens and bathrooms are also common areas for updates, as moisture and spills can wear down surfaces. Basements in St Louis frequently need attention because of humidity and flooding risks, while older homes may need hardwood refinishing in living rooms or dining areas.

Helpful?

Before starting a flooring project in St Louis, inspect your subfloor for moisture and structural issues, especially in basements or older homes. Schedule any needed repairs for cracks or uneven surfaces. Order flooring materials in advance to allow for acclimation. Confirm if permits are required for your project, and communicate with your HOA to ensure your flooring choice and installation process meet local guidelines.
