"Don’t be fooled by their low prices. The work was done expertly and with professional perfection. They pointed out any issues with the existing floor - which sagged - and suggested a remedy. They did a beautiful job. Also installed quarter-round to finish it off."

"To say these guys did and awesome job is an understatement. I couldn't be more pleased. This was a very difficult job. The floor have had carpet for years. The carpet was old looking and worn, however the floors were even worse underneath. There were missing planks, uneven soft spots, vinyl floor tile half taken off, it was a mess. Cid came to the job knowing the floors were horrible. I gave him full disclosure over the phone. I really anticipated him seeing the floors and walking away. A few days prior that's what happened with a different company. Cid was very personable, professional, knowledgeable, informative and fair. He laid out exactly what was going to have to take place with the job and then did the measurements. Now came the part me as a customer dread, the quote. I was floored when he gave me the numbers. The quote was very fair and he said he could get started right away. I was having three rooms done. It took a day and a few hours to complete. The crew worked very diligently to complete the job. They also cleaned as they worked. When they were done the floor looked great. The crew put everything back as they found it. With CVM you can't go wrong. I highly recommend them for your flooring needs."

Three different tile shapes and color. All lines are perfect. Incredible craftsmanship. They also installed a new toilet, vanity and sink."

"Not only did my floors turn out far beyond what I thought was possible, I'm pretty sure, he's a floor artist. I received 4 estimates. I didn't go with the cheapest quote, I went with the one that was only slightly higher because my gut told me he was the guy that would do the best job. My gut was 100% correct. I can't even tell you how happy I am with the outcome. There is no other option of who to hire if you want your floors to look beautiful again. I'm really happy and would give 10 stars if I could."

"Steve and his crew do an EXCELLENT job! This is the second house that I have had them install real hard wood flooring in. They are top notch, do high quality work with a lot of attention to detail. They are efficient and do not wast time like some other contractors would. They get in and get the job done without sacrificing the quality. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for flooring install needs."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Installing carpet padding is mostly a matter of measuring the room and cutting the carpet pad to size with a utility knife. You can save some money on carpet installation costs by doing it yourself. Before installing the carpet padding, you should install the tack strips around the room’s perimeter and prepare the subfloor by cleaning and making any necessary repairs. Then, unroll the carpet pad and cut sections as needed. Staple the carpet pad to the subfloor along the edges, leaving the tack strips exposed.

New flooring costs quite a bit, so longevity is important to think about. Concrete generally has the longest life span, but it’s not always a good solution for homes with wooden subfloors. That said, hardwood floors and stone floors can last up to 100 years, and you can refinish or restore them to remove imperfections from daily wear.

Without walls, other options to quiet an open space are to add noise-dampening materials like rugs, carpets, curtains, and soft furniture. These can act as a barrier to block and absorb sound. More expensive alternatives include acoustic panels, room dividers and temporary walls, and more advanced soundproofing.

With so many vastly different options to choose from, how can you find an inexpensive garage floor that you can also confidently say is the best? The right solution will be different for everyone and truly depends on your individual needs and stylistic tastes.

If you’re working with a smaller budget, a low-cost coating such as paint, sealer, or stain might be the best way to express your style in the garage. If you need a high-performance surface that can handle the tough projects and maintenance you do in the garage, or if you want a wide range of colorful customization options, flexible tiles might be for you.

Yes. So-called “floating” cork floors can be installed over concrete subfloor, though a polyethylene vapor barrier is required. This type of installation is achieved using the glue-down tiles, which are trickier for a DIY approach, so consider calling a professional to help you if you’re planning to install your cork floor over concrete.
