"They built a 1600 sq ft home for me and done a fantastic job from start to finish. Attention to detail and communication was the very best. They have also done some remodel work for me on my flip houses, also installed a new roof on a different home. I would highly recommended Darrin and his crew to anyone!"

"The work we needed required extensive remodeling and carpentry knowledge. The structural improvements, siding, window and door replacement were expertly completed above and beyond what was expected. They have fantastic subconsultants for any additional items that need to be completed as well. I would highly recommend C & G Development, LLC now and for years to come because they are a multiple generational company."

"Jo and Lee Allison are the owners of the company, and I found them via Angi. I was apprehensive in working with contractors before, but they changed my opinion. They were very attentive to my needs, not forcing anything at me. Listened carefully, and were very accommodating to help make the total project work right. Super friendly people that were nice to my wife and kids. They gave great value for reasonable price, and went above and beyond to ensure things I didn't even ask for were taken care of. Very competent in what they do, and I am happy with the two slabs they did for me of 13 yd3 in total. They also worked long days and even in the rain and at night to help make sure their work met the grade. I took care of the payment to the cement company and paid them separately, and it all worked out fine. I would definitely recommend them for their honesty, hard work, competency and good nature to take care of anyone with a home project."

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

Home Building questions, answered by experts

Before finalizing your home building plans, check the property's zoning classification and existing deed restrictions to determine what you can legally build. You must also review floodplain maps and assess utility infrastructure availability. Because MO features unpredictable karst geology, obtaining a geotechnical soil report is essential for choosing the correct foundation and drainage systems.

Helpful?

During home building, you must actively decide on your lot layout, driveway placement, and grading direction. You will also select the foundation type based on soil conditions and make crucial energy code compliance choices regarding insulation and HVAC systems. Finally, Springfield weather requires you to choose durable exterior finishes and coordinate essential utility service agreements.

Helpful?

When planning home building projects, you must account for lengthy permit reviews and utility connection delays. Springfield weather also creates strict scheduling limits, as winter freezes and spring rains halt concrete and framing work. Additionally, prepare for extensive soil testing. The local karst terrain and expansive clay soils demand thorough site preparation before laying a foundation.

Helpful?

After finishing your home building project, you must retain the certificate of occupancy, all approved permits, and passed inspection records. Keep your geotechnical soil reports and utility as-built drawings for future excavation safety. In Springfield, you should also permanently store any elevation certificates, contractor warranties, final lien waivers, and written approvals from your homeowners association.

Helpful?

The longevity of your home building project heavily depends on foundation performance and moisture management. You must ensure proper site grading and functional gutters to handle heavy MO rainfall. Sizing your HVAC system correctly for the mixed-humid climate prevents moisture issues. Always hire licensed contractors and pass all required code inspections to guarantee structural safety.
