"Kirkwood Plumbing was very responsive, sending a highly qualified technician within 24-hours. He did an incredible job replacing old cast stacks and vents to our 2nd floor bath. The further comment that I would make is they are not cheap. I'm still trying to reconcile their cost for a 7-8 hour job, but the results couldn't be better."

"Excellent Service! I had a fantastic experience with this plumbing company. They were extremely professional, arrived right on time, and completed the job efficiently. The quality of their work was top-notch, and the price was very reasonable. It?s not often you find a team that?s reliable, courteous, and skilled all in one. Highly recommend!"

"Maplewood Plumbing was the 2nd company I called to replace a garbage disposal after the first company was blatantly trying to rip me off. The plumber they sent was on time, friendly, honest (he didn't try to upsell me models) and was less than a third the price of the 1st company I had called. Thankful for a company I can trust, I will absolutely use them again in the future!"

"Look no further if you’re looking for a new handy man for hire. Don with Super Handy Man is your guy. There were a few plumbing projects around my house that needed to be taken care of. After getting a few astronomical quotes from larger plumbing outfits, I decided to go the route of a handy man. Don with Super Handy Man, was the first to reach out. After a few conversations about the projects he was able to quote me a price that was very reasonable and affordable. We scheduled the work, he showed up on time, and did dang good job. He’s just as knowledgeable as he is a stand up guy. For future projects that are outside of my scope, I won’t hesitate to give Don a call."

"I hired this company to extend the natural gas in my house and would definitely recommend them. I felt that the plumber who did the installation really knew what he was doing and seemed like a great guy. The installation went well and the price was fair."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

No, you can’t drain your sump pump into your home’s sewer system. In fact, it’s against the law in many places because dumping extra water into a municipal water system can disrupt or overwhelm the treatment process. And for similar reasons, you shouldn’t discharge a sump pump into your septic system, either.

The amount of water wasted when a toilet ghost flushes depends on the cause of the ghost flushing. Leaky flapper valves tend to waste less water than a larger problem like a damaged flush valve that makes the toilet run constantly. Even if you don’t think you’re wasting a lot of water, it’s still a problem that should be fixed quickly.

Yes, copper pipes can freeze, crack, and burst in cold weather. In fact, of all piping types used for plumbing, copper pipes burst most easily when frozen. This is because copper conducts energy and loses heat more quickly than other types of plumbing. Copper also won't expand when the water inside freezes. Instead, it bursts or splits to accommodate expanding frozen water.

Removing calcium and lime buildup will often fix a clogged faucet head. You can usually remove any buildup with distilled white vinegar or a combination of vinegar, dish soap, and baking soda. Sometimes, the problem is buildup on the aerator, in which case removing and cleaning that part should fix your water flow. However, the design of some aerators makes them difficult to clean. For those, replacing the aerator will get the faucet flowing well again.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.
