"I hired Vince Anderson of Fence and Concrete Masters to redo my front deck on my house. He started work approximately March of 2024. As of today, 9/22/2025 it is still unfinished and he has not responded to my attempts at contact since October 2024. Most of it has to be redone. Which has been extremely frustrating and expensive because no one wants to finish a messed up job. All previous reviews I?ve read since then (my mistake of not researching him prior) he has rebuttals putting off everything back into his customers. He is a master at BS and reflecting blame in order to avoid responsibility for his messes. I paid the deposit of $3,500 plus an additional $2,000 part way into his mess, which was to go to materials and supplies of which I only have approximately $1,000 worth of wood materials. They would come and work a day at a time about once every 2-3 weeks. I would have to call him and then they would show up for a few hours. In October 2024 he completely stopped responding."

Asphalt can get sticky in high temperatures and intense sunlight and is better for cooler or moderate climates, while concrete is more likely to crack in colder climates where water can seep into the slab and freeze. It’s best to weigh the pros and cons of each material and decide on your priorities for your driveway. Gravel won’t be an appropriate choice if your driveway experiences heavy traffic. You’ll find that you need to level and top it off regularly, which could make the material a much more expensive option.

Even with regular maintenance, most driveways don’t last much longer than 30 years. Alligator cracking is a clear warning sign that your driveway’s foundation is failing, and cracks that are deep and wide can let water in, causing more damage. Standing water is another red flag. If your driveway doesn’t drain properly, it’s going to degrade slowly. Finally, if you’re seeing dips or uneven patches, that’s a sign the base layer or soil is shifting. If these issues pop up, it’s time to replace your driveway.
