"It went well. Mr. Adams, the owner, reported to me with pictures of the various areas of the roof. He stated that the roof was in good condition! Although he was late in arriving at my home, he apologized profusely, saying that another job had necessitated more of his time than he had allotted. I was impressed with his professionalism, his appearance, and his language skills. I would highly recommend this company!

Hurricane Film questions, answered by experts

Yes, a ceiling leak is considered an emergency. Even a small leak can indicate a larger problem that could lead to significant water damage, compromise your home's structural integrity, and become a major expense. Large leaks can cause your ceiling to sag or even collapse.

If water is actively dripping or running down walls, it is a clear emergency. You should call an emergency plumber immediately. While waiting for professional help, place buckets under the leak, use towels to absorb water, and move furniture out of the way to prevent damage.

Even if you only see a water stain that isn't actively dripping, it's still important to investigate and repair the source to prevent future damage, although the situation is less urgent than an active leak.

If a brick house has been properly maintained and has no existing foundation damage, then yes, it can withstand a hurricane. If a house has brick veneer siding, it can withstand winds of up to 150 miles per hour. Brick houses with solid brick walls can potentially withstand hurricane-force winds of up to 185 miles per hour.

Small-scale water damage might be manageable independently with proper tools, but extensive damage typically requires professional restoration to ensure comprehensive recovery and safety.

Unfortunately, there’s no definitive answer to this question, but the wind rating of your shingles will give you a good idea of what wind speeds can damage your roof. If you’re concerned about damage, inspect your roof following windy conditions to look for signs of wind damage to your shingles. When in doubt, consider hiring a professional who fixes roofs to carry out an expert inspection. Remember that hurricanes, tropical storms, and tornadoes are likely to cause the most damage, but even severe thunderstorms can bring winds that compromise your roofing system.

A hurricane can take down a house, but most well-built modern homes can withstand an average hurricane. Houses are more likely to fail during strong hurricanes and if they’re older, poorly built, or already have structural problems. Strong winds can blow off weak points like the roof and windows, giving the hurricane winds an opening to do more damage. Walls may also collapse under the force of high winds and pressure.
