"I spoke with a lady with The Maids to inquire about pricing on the services they provide and she asked me a few questions about my place and gave a price for weekly and bi-weekly. At that time I was calling around to different companies and called back later that day to setup a cleaning for bi-weekly service at $110 per cleaning and the first time cleaning would be billed at $127 per hour (which is high).
A small group arrived on a Tuesday morning to clean the house and they did a fair job, not worth $275 that I paid. They did miss the window sills, the blinds, and a ceiling fan. However my wife told me that they spoke Spanish the whole time they were there and someone who appeared to be their supervisor showed up to the door and continued to speak to them in Spanish. I do not have a problem with people speaking the language they are most comfortable with, however they knew English and was doing a job for people who speak English. I do not know these people and I do not know what they were talking about, for all I know they were talking about my kids or wife, you get the idea.
When I arrived to the house I noticed a couple things were broken and a few scratch off lottery tickets ranging from $10 - $20 winning tickets were missing, I prefer to think they were mistaken as trash. It was too late to call the company and I was told they would be calling the next day anyhow and would bring it up then. The next day came and it was a man calling to tell me that the bi-weekly cleaning would now cost $130. That took me by surprise and made me forget to bring up the missing lottery tickets and the items that were broken. I told the man that I was told $110 and I would have never agreed to $130, especially since other companies were able to do the same job at a lower cost. He continued to try and convince me that they were offering me a bargain because they are better than everyone else out there. The problem is they waited until they took $275 from me, full well knowing I was expecting $110 every other Tuesday. If there was a price change then they should have told me that up front and before they cleaned the house for the first time. Other companies previewed the house before they cleaned it and gave a range of $105 - $110 bi-weekly cleaning and $200 - $240 for the first time cleaning. I debated whether or not to stop payment on the check for $275 and send another for $130 due to being lied to, but my wife talked me out of it.
So if you decide to go with this company please put valuables away and make sure you get the price in writing.

It is odd that a company would call a customer a liar about broken items, a foreign language being used, and missing lottery tickets. I have nothing to gain to lie about a company but the facts are what I said in my original post. Where the company is wrong is I requested a price for weekly and bi-weekly and gave them ALL of the information they requested over the phone and that is how they determined their price. Bottom line, if the price was going to be different from what was quoted then it should have been stated before they did the work., especially when it is $60 per month more. I do not recall the cleaning company measuring my house for square footage, I told them 1300 SQ FT and that is what it is. The cleaning people did not pick up any toys or anything and did not do any extra work. I still stand by my original post and we have went with Home Sweep Home who cleans our house every other Thursday and stuck to the $105 they quoted us, plus they gave us $20 off our first cleaning. I would have to say they do a better job then The Maids because we have not had anything broken or come up missing and they all speak English while in my house, plus the cleaning job they do is equal if not a little better."

"We hired Sissi company to first remove mold from our roof shaded by a big tree. Lewis did a great job and sprayed chlorine in the end to kill the mold that were hard to remove. We then hired him to paint our outside wooden wall. Lewis painted quite carefully and respected and accommodated our requests. After this work done, he did basement waterproofing project for us as well. It saved our basement from flooding during this winter. In the end, Lewis also fixed our water sink sewage pipe and several lights in the house. Lewis is also a very friendly guy and he charged reasonably. I strongly recommend him."

Range Hoods questions, answered by experts

No, range hoods do not necessarily have to be vented outside. Ductless or non-vented range hoods are available, which are common in condos or small kitchens where connecting to external ductwork isn't feasible. These hoods operate by taking in air, filtering it through charcoal filters to help eliminate smoke and odors, and then recirculating the cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, while these recirculating hoods are more versatile, venting to the outside is still the preferred and more effective method for completely removing smoke, odors, and gases from the room.

Typically 1-2 hours, factoring in ductwork and electrical connections.

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is best and safest for venting a hood range. It’s best to avoid flexible and corrugated types of ducting, as these options don’t provide ample airflow and may not meet local code. For specific advice on which type of duct might be best for your kitchen, reach out to a range hood installation professional.

By positioning ductwork for optimal airflow and reducing potential leaks.

Most residential range hoods have a CFM between 200 and 600. A higher CFM means your range hood is better at removing smoke and odors from your kitchen. The measurement ultimately depends on your stove’s width and heat output as well as the size of your kitchen.

Compared to the average size of a stove and kitchen, 350 CFM would be the minimum recommended rating for the average kitchen. However, selecting a higher CFM range hood would guarantee better ventilation to match your cooking habits, whether they’re minimal or extensive.
