"My call was returned quickly, technician arrived on time, and took care of the problem. He was friendly and offered additional advice for the HVAC system but wasn't trying to sell me anything. Thank you"

"Prompt, efficient, friendly service. It was a weekend - naturally, that's when things break down - and they were available to work on the HVAC the next morning. Appreciated the good communication and service. Good to know that I have them for future needs."

"Dave, was a god send. He is so polite, honest, trustworthy and a true professional in his career. We were desparate due to my current health issues. He promptly came to our home to diagnose the problem and quickly got what we needed and restored our air working on a FUll Saturday and part of the evening. We highly recommend Dave Cole. He is a one of a kind! Thank you for blessing us. J.R. and Lauretta"

"I was told by 3 companies that my heat pump compressor was bad. One said the outside unit had to be replaced and the other two said both the outside and inside units had to be replaced. At a cost of $3500-6800, this was not what I was expecting and it certainly wasn t in my budget! The owner of Queen City looked at my unit and determined that my compressor was just fine and my heat pump just needed 2 capacitors. That same day, my heat pump was working and the cost was under $300, not thousands! They had my best interests at heart! I highly recommend this great company and they will be my go to HVAC company in the future. I m definitely a happy customer! Thanks again! 😃"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, a mini split AC system can replace central air—and quite easily, too. Since mini splits don’t require ductwork, homeowners can convert their central air system to a mini split to save money and energy. Consult with an HVAC professional to learn more about the process of replacing your central air with a mini split.

While "dry" mode on your AC can help reduce humidity levels to some extent, it may not be as effective as a dedicated dehumidifier, especially in areas with extremely high humidity or larger spaces. Dehumidifiers are specifically designed to remove moisture from the air more efficiently, making them a better choice for tackling persistent humidity issues.

Yes, mini-split or ductless AC systems add value to a home and do not devalue it. They are an attractive feature for potential buyers, especially in older homes without existing ductwork, as they provide a practical air conditioning solution without the significant expense and hassle of installing traditional ducts. Ductless systems also eliminate issues associated with conventional ductwork, such as noise and the potential for pests. Furthermore, homeowners value energy-efficient solutions, and mini-splits offer high efficiency for both heating and cooling, plus zoned temperature control. This leads to lower energy consumption and reduced electric bills, which is a major selling point.

Yes, it’s important to turn off your AC sometimes to give it a break and prevent it from freezing up. If your AC runs all the time, your system’s parts will wear down quicker, which may mean that you need to replace it sooner. Plus, using your AC constantly uses more electricity and leads to higher energy bills.

It is possible to add air conditioning to an older home, but it can be very expensive to do so. Expect to pay anywhere from $6,000 to $17,000 or more for the ductwork and AC unit. You’ll also have to hack into the home’s walls and ceilings to add ductwork, which can impact the aesthetics of an old home.
