"I would recommend B&B Tree Services to anyone who wants the job done right!  Lots of people can take down a tree, but I can honestly say that B&B Tree Services not only eliminated the blight of several weed trees that had sprung up over the years, but left my yard tidy and renewed.  I also appreciated how their representative explained the quote to me, showing step-by-step how the total was derived.  I recommend having them grind out the stumps, even for smaller trees those suckers will never come back!!!  Three cheers for a job well done"

"Out of all the companies that came and looked at my project. Advanced tree was the only ones that explained why my trees died. And how they were going to come in and take them out. They were middle of the road for the estimates I received. But I felt 100x more comfortable having them do it. Eric texted me with daily updates working around the weather to get the project done. Definitely found a long term customer out of me!"

"Young & Vaughn were very friendly and professional. The quote was reasonable and fell within budget. The men communicated the steps to take down the large tree and executed as planned. There was a small equipment failure but they were back on track in no time. They are great guys."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Unless there’s some sort of rule in your community’s homeowners’ association that requires you to remove a stump, there’s no law that says you have to take it out. If you’re not wedded to the idea of removing it, there are plenty of ways to get creative with this tree remnant. Using the stump as the medium for a wood carving or turning it into a planter are just two examples of ways to repurpose a tree stump.

The best way to protect tree roots is to avoid the roots entirely by excavating outside the root radius of the tree. For nearby projects, it’s a good idea to construct a temporary retaining wall. But that’s not always possible, depending on the project and the root system. In these cases, consider using alternative equipment like an auger to tunnel under the ground.

Remember, tree roots can damage nearby cement foundations as they grow. If a tree is close enough to interfere with large excavations, it may be better to remove the tree than risk future problems.

Sudden oak death and oak wilt are different diseases. Oak wilt first shows up in tree leaves while sudden oak death affects the branches and trunk. However, as symptoms in both can overlap, it’s best to consult a professional arborist tree expert for a proper diagnosis and development of a treatment plan.

Large, established tree branches won’t grow roots, but if you find a young tree branch that’s less than about a year old, you’ve got a shot. Put it in water or soil as soon as possible for best results. You’ll know the branch is viable if it’s about the thickness of a pencil and has some leaves or needles.

Tree roots don’t necessarily break through concrete on their own, but they can certainly take advantage of existing cracks, even very small ones. As roots grow, they expand the cracks, making them larger and leading to serious and costly foundation damage. It’s a good idea to have repairs on any foundation cracks you’re concerned about.
