"I always recommend Anton's to family and friends who need HVAC services. Their prices are reasonable, and their service is top notch! All of their technicians are very professional and considerate and they don't try to sell you things you don't need. Ronan just came out this morning to do our annual A/C inspection. The service was excellent as always. He took the time to explain everything and made recommendations. I never felt pressured, and I trust this company to take care of my HVAC needs. They've got a customer for life!"

"Liberty did a fantastic job identifying and rectifying airflow problems with our existing Hvac system that was installed less than two years ago by another company. They were punctual, responsive and incredibly knowledgeable. I highly recommend them."

"Had new hvac, furnace, and hwh installed. Furnace had a couple of air leaks between a coil and furnace which I fixed myself. Hvac was spot on. Hwh failed first inspection, but was corrected in same day. For the premium price paid, these issues should not happen. Quality 4.5 because of these issues, same goes for value. Customer service is very good. They are very professional, work looks very good, clean worksite afterwards. I would recommend, but don't think about negotiating price with them. Their labor is very high."

"We chose Total Comfort Heating & Air Conditioning, LLC to replace our 40+ yr old HVAC system. The salesman (*Ken Ross) was knowledgeable and friendly. No hype, no sales pitches and no up selling. The Installers were punctual, pleasant, fast, and left the work area spotless. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of quality HVAC Services."

"Mostly swapping out electrical outlets.  However, additional tasks included switching out drain pipes under a sink and building a railing for an exterior staircase.  We had a long list.  It went very well.

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

To diagnose a bad HVAC or AC damper, assess the airflow from your vents. For a manual damper, close it, run your system, and check for airflow. If air is still coming through the vents, the damper is likely faulty and needs repair or replacement. For an automatic damper, turn on your HVAC system and monitor the airflow and room temperature. Signs of a problem include low airflow, a room that won't maintain its set temperature, or a drafty feeling. If you suspect a faulty automatic damper, you may need to hire a professional for repairs.

If you’re shopping around for a rooftop AC unit, you may hear them referred to as “package units.” That’s because rooftop AC systems are all-in-one heating and cooling units that connect directly to your home’s ductwork. If your AC repair pro references a package unit, they are referring to the system on your roof.

While 72 degrees is a comfortable setting for many people, it’s likely not the most efficient temperature setting for your air conditioning unit. By pushing the temperature up to 75 or 78 degrees, you stand to save money on your energy bill. That said, these temperatures may be too warm to be comfortable for some people and are definitely too warm for most people to sleep comfortably.

If your AC unit isn’t cooling and you haven’t figured out why, there are a few good reasons to turn it off ASAP. The source of the issue, whether that be leaking refrigerant or a broken compressor, will worsen and cause more damage to the overall unit the longer the machine is allowed to run. When in doubt, shut it down until you or an AC pro can ensure everything is working properly.

A common HVAC rule is that for every 500 to 600 square feet of living space, you need 1 ton of heating or cooling capacity. Now that you know this common rule, you also need to know that it isn’t very accurate, and a dedicated pro wouldn’t use it for your home. If you talk to a pro who won’t or can’t perform a proper Manual J calculation, consider hiring someone more thorough.
