"Great Experience. I was concerned about the 22 yr age of our air conditioner able to keep working and wonder if a long wait time to get a product shipped like refrigerators last year, I called for a quote and within a week it was installed and working! Installers worked tirelessly until their work was done, clean and neat!"

"MCS techs were very courteous. New HVAC system install went well. They explained all their work professionally. Also found a crack in the flue and replaced which was overlooked by a previous contractor. They are very thorough and reasonable. I highly recommend MCS."

"I’ve used this company twice. My husband has a medical condition that is affected by heat. The first time the air conditioner wasn’t working they made every effort to assess the problem immediately when I explained the medical condition. At the time they corrected the problem I was advised the system was probably 20 years old and we may have to consider a new system soon. The second time I contacted Comfortable Carla’s was about 4-6 weeks later when the system wasn’t working again. This lead to a system replacement. I was provided with different options, my questions were answered and the installation was completed as quickly as possible, especially in view of my husband’s medical issue. The staff was was professional, efficient and kept me apprised all throughout the process. I highly recommend this company."

"The gas heater igniter replacement was done same day with original brand “Goodman” parts for fair price. I also received free advice on the proper maintenance of the HVAC units for the 4-family property where I’m an owner-occupant. I only used Angi’s list because my usual repair person was out of town and am very glad I did based on this experience!"

"Had new hvac, furnace, and hwh installed. Furnace had a couple of air leaks between a coil and furnace which I fixed myself. Hvac was spot on. Hwh failed first inspection, but was corrected in same day. For the premium price paid, these issues should not happen. Quality 4.5 because of these issues, same goes for value. Customer service is very good. They are very professional, work looks very good, clean worksite afterwards. I would recommend, but don't think about negotiating price with them. Their labor is very high."

"He serviced our HVAC system. House was dormant for about 9 months and for sale. We noticed the system didn?t smell good and wasn?t cooling the house right. So we called him to service our house. He found our duct work to be compromised and pulled out some dead animals. He fixed the ducts and put this shiney metal tape on all the seams. Checked the AC outside for refrigerant gas and operation. Then he checked our furnace inside. The filter was black and musty, he didn?t have our size on his truck but he ordered a couple from Walmart and had them delivered while he worked on our furnace blower. He found the round fan was all clogged with hair and dirt. He pulled it out and cleaned it outside, used some chemicals that made it shiny and cleaned. Checked the fan blades with a tool to make sure it was blowing a strong stream of air. Took a shop vac cleaned each of our floor vents and put about 10 or 15 foot of hose going in each direction. For a man by himself he was very"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

The best way to reduce heat upstairs is to release it by opening a window. Hot air rises, and if you can create some airflow by opening a window upstairs and also one on a lower level, the hot air should be pushed out of the home. Remember that fans pointing out the window do a much better job of circulating air than fans pointing into the home.

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, or ASHRAE, sets the standard guidelines for air changes per hour in homes and businesses. The International Residential Code, or IRC, also sets ACH requirements for residences and bases those requirements off of ASHRAE standards plus climate specifics related to your location.

When your HVAC technician mentions recharging your home AC unit, they’re referring to the process of topping off the unit with refrigerant, so the levels are properly maintained and pressurized. Normally, a properly functioning AC unit doesn’t need additional refrigerant, but AC units can develop leaks or other problems that decrease the amount of refrigerant needed.

Some of the signs of HVAC issues include rising energy bills, rooms not cooling or heating properly, loud noises when in operation, and signs of condensation. To illustrate, if you’re wondering how to stop condensation on air vents, you’ll need to have your HVAC inspected.

Traditional central air conditioning systems require ductwork to circulate air throughout the home. Alternatively, you can add air conditioning with a mini-split ductless air conditioning system, which can be just as energy efficient as a central air conditioner. This type of system consists of two units–an outside unit that holds the compressor and condenser and an indoor unit that holds an air-handler. With multi-zone ductless systems, there are multiple indoor air handlers tied to a single outdoor compressor/condenser, allowing the system to cool multiple rooms.
