"Antoine and his Service Specialist were very polite and pleasant. Diagnosed on Tuesday and repaired on Wednesday. Nice and honest guys! Prompt service, also called ahead before coming out. Made sure to clean after themselves and replaced the heating element in no time. Reasonable pricing as well! I would recommend All 4 One Heating & Cooling. Thanks Guys!"

"Bill came to work on my Central A/C unit as it had been down for two weeks. Bill was very professional and was eager to get the job done RIGHT! It took about 2 hours, but he also cut me out a filter slot because I didn’t have a spot for an air filter. Overall I give 5 stars! (Would give 10 if I could) HIGHLY recommend!"

"Ryan and Jeff were both very professional, knowledgeable, and answered any questions I had. They did a fantastic job installing a new A/C condenser and coil, very clean and neat. Their level of service is excellent, and they will be my first call for any of my future HVAC needs."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

While many states do not have specific licensing requirements for HVAC companies, your local city or county might. It's always a good idea to check local requirements online and use a tool like Angi’s contractor license lookup to confirm that the company you’re considering is licensed. Regardless of licensing, you should always ensure the company you hire is fully insured to avoid potential lawsuits if a technician is injured on your property. Additionally, it is recommended to check if the company holds third-party certifications, such as North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification or R-410A certification, which qualifies them to work with HVAC refrigerants.

To find a reputable HVAC company, start by researching providers in your area. Look for companies with mostly positive online reviews and check the Better Business Bureau’s website for customer complaints. Next, verify their credentials. Rule out any companies that aren’t licensed, as this is a requirement in some states and municipalities, and confirm they are insured. Once you have a shortlist, contact each professional to ask key questions: How many years of experience do you have? Do you hold any third-party certifications? Do you have experience working on my specific type of HVAC system or brand? Can you provide references? What is your per-hour pricing? Do you offer maintenance contracts for ongoing savings? Do you provide a warranty for your work?

Setting your AC unit to 78 degrees can, indeed, help you save energy. In fact, according to experts, every degree you turn the unit up could save you between 1% and 3% on your energy bills. That said, turning your unit off entirely while you’re out might actually be less efficient than keeping it on at a higher temperature. Why? The unit will need to work extra hard to cool the house back off again after all those hot hours.

Split systems are the most common type of HVAC system. Split systems have two main units: an indoor one and an outdoor one. These units work together to pull in air, heat or cool it, and distribute it throughout your home. Other popular types of HVAC systems include hybrid systems and packaged heating and air systems.

When your HVAC system is loud, a few different causes are possible. If you have loose connections or bolts in the hardware, they can rattle as the system runs and vibrates. If you have an extremely dirty furnace filter, it could cause the system to generate noise. More commonly, an excessively loud HVAC system indicates a malfunction in the system. You may have a blower motor that is close to failing or a compressor that is breaking down. These issues require an immediate inspection.
