"Took two trips, but they checked all the electrical components in our HVAC thoroughly and found tiny bits of melted plastic on a coil that shorted out the a/c. Saved us so much money. Very professional company."

"Technician was quiet, unobtrusive, efficient. He told me what work was done and the condition of my HVAC system. He dutifully recommended a couple of accessory items for me to consider, but did not “push” them."

"Antoine and his Service Specialist were very polite and pleasant. Diagnosed on Tuesday and repaired on Wednesday. Nice and honest guys! Prompt service, also called ahead before coming out. Made sure to clean after themselves and replaced the heating element in no time. Reasonable pricing as well! I would recommend All 4 One Heating & Cooling. Thanks Guys!"

"Bill came to work on my Central A/C unit as it had been down for two weeks. Bill was very professional and was eager to get the job done RIGHT! It took about 2 hours, but he also cut me out a filter slot because I didn’t have a spot for an air filter. Overall I give 5 stars! (Would give 10 if I could) HIGHLY recommend!"

"Ryan and Affordable Comfort KC are great! Call them first. He was responsive to phone calls and texts, showed up when he said he would and his work is top quality. He caught a few things the first guy missed (and these things were confirmed necessary by another technician). He makes sure you have what you need, but won't try to sell you on something unnecessary. The products he uses are great quality. He is an all around good guy who does great work! We won't use anyone else! They did a complete HVAC install system and we could not be happier!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, it's normal for air conditioners to leak tiny amounts of water due to condensation. Under normal circumstances, all excess moisture travels to the drain pan to be pumped through your system's drain line. You should call a technician to diagnose the issue if you're noticing frequent leaking or pooling. It's also important to investigate if your homeowners insurance can cover water damage.

Air filters with a high MERV rating, 11 or above, shouldn't cause airflow problems in most residential systems. However, the airflow can be restricted in some HVAC systems if they aren't designed for high MERV ratings. If in doubt, a local duct installer should inspect your ductwork so that you know what your system can handle.

The cost of R32 refrigerant is about the same as the cost of R410A refrigerant, the most widely available type of refrigerant today. However, R32 systems use about 20% less refrigerant than R410A systems, making the refrigerant less expensive overall.

When your HVAC technician mentions recharging your home AC unit, they’re referring to the process of topping off the unit with refrigerant, so the levels are properly maintained and pressurized. Normally, a properly functioning AC unit doesn’t need additional refrigerant, but AC units can develop leaks or other problems that decrease the amount of refrigerant needed.

Yes, you can put an AC unit on the roof of your home or commercial building. For proper installation, you’ll need to ensure the roof surface is flat, it’s accessible for maintenance and cleaning, and an AC installation pro agreed that your home is a candidate for package units. Don’t forget to consider the climate in your area, as homes that experience frequent tropical storms or hurricanes may not benefit from this type of system.
