Small jobs welcome

"Ethan is a hard-working young man who takes great pride in his product. I needed to get some insulation put in my wife's she-shed. I spoke to Ethan on a Thursday afternoon and let him know we would be traveling for two weeks starting the following Tuesday. Ethan came to our house on a Sunday afternoon to take care of us. He did great prep work, covering our windows and doors. He sealed all the small cracks around our metal sides, the windows and doors before he sprayed the closed-cell insulation. He completed the entire job in under three hours, to include a thorough clean up. We were having problems with insects getting into the shed, especially hornets before we hired Ethan. We returned from our trip last evening and when we checked our shed, there was not a single insect to be found. I highly recommend Ethan for any insulation needs!"

"Would rate very good to excellent. . Personable, professional, punctual. Carpet, furniture, doors, windows and trim well protected before any work was started. Perhaps could have had less drywall damage with wallpaper removal in half of room. Wall surface repaired, primed, prepped for painting including sanding and painted.. ."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Insulating a detached garage won't reduce your home's heating or cooling bills—and insulating an attached garage will only have a small effect on your home's energy efficiency. However, insulating an attached garage can reduce the transfer of heating and cooling to and from the outdoors, which can reduce the amount of energy your home needs to stay comfortable. Also, having an insulated garage is just more pleasant. Balance the cost of insulating your garage with how you'll use the space to determine if the project is worth it.

It is normal for the attic to be hotter than the rest of the house in the summer, but only by about 10 or 20 degrees. Attics that aren’t properly insulated or ventilated can reach temperatures of 130 degrees or more which can cause damage to the home’s structure, including the roof, wood framing, and HVAC system.

Yes, guiding choices between open-cell and closed-cell foams based on needs.

Although it’s not required, air ventilation in a finished basement can help improve the air quality, prevent moisture and mold issues, keep musty odors away, and also maintain the air quality throughout the rest of your home. Proper ventilation will help maintain the value of your investment in finishing your basement. Try basement ventilation methods like installing vents or a dehumidifier for best results.

The average U.S. homeowner pays $1,850 to insulate their home. However, the cost of insulation depends on the type, the size of your home, and who does the installation work.

The cost of foam board insulation depends on whether it's made from expanded polystyrene (EPS) or extruded polystyrene (XPS). EPS has the lower price point, usually costing between $0.25 and $0.50 per board foot, while XPS costs between $0.40 and $0.50 per board foot.
