"Great customer service, prompt response and very clear expectation of charges before arriving. Onsite technician was very knowledgeable and did a great job. We smelled gas and, unfortunately, had our gas turned off for safety by utility company on a snowy night. When the utility company came back to turn the gas on, they even made a comment on how good of a job the technician did in finding all the leaks and fixing the issues. It was pricey, but assume that was mostly because it was a weekend night. Wouldn’t hesitate to call them again."

"Recommended if you are willing to pay astronomical fees. I was told I would be provided with the cost prior to the work being done however, since I was not present, they charged and elderly parent an outrageous fee. $200 to cap off a gas line when I was quoted half that from other options."

"I hired this company to extend the natural gas in my house and would definitely recommend them. I felt that the plumber who did the installation really knew what he was doing and seemed like a great guy. The installation went well and the price was fair."

"Bought a new range and needed our gas line replaced. He came out the next day and looked at it and replaced the gas line the next business day. Came back today to help get the oven pulled back out and hooked up. Pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him!"

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Gas grill installation costs around $540 on average, not including the price of the actual grill, and most homeowners pay between $120 and $1,400. This total will go toward laying down a new gas line, connecting it to your existing gas system, pressure testing the line, and connecting it to your grill. Your total project price will depend on the length of the gas line, whether or not the line needs to be installed underground, and the cost of the permits in your area.

Safety steps include proper vent installation, connector tightness, and leak testing. A safe environment must be maintained throughout.

Built-in gas grills typically have a life span of 10 to 15 years. However, their longevity can vary based on quality, usage frequency, climate conditions, and maintenance routines. High-quality models made from durable materials tend to last longer. Additionally, regular cleaning, covering the grill when not in use, and conducting routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning burners and replacing worn-out parts can extend its life. A well-maintained built-in gas grill can provide excellent performance and memorable cooking experiences for a decade or more, making it a worthwhile investment for outdoor cooking enthusiasts.

Most likely, a gas plumber would be the best pro for many components in your home, and you might not even realize it. Natural gas plumbers are responsible for maintaining and installing natural gas lines, including installing appliances that use natural gas. These can include:

  • Fireplaces

  • Water heaters

  • Furnaces

  • Hot tubs

  • Clothes dryers

  • Ovens

  • Outdoor grills

Gas plumbers are also the pros that would handle a natural gas leak in your home, so it's essential to know the signs of a gas leak before it becomes a dangerous situation.

All U.S. states require permits for gas grill installation, so you’ll have to get one before you move forward with your project. Permits help ensure that the gas line runs safely to avoid gas leaks and explosions. Gas line permits can usually also only be pulled by certified plumbers, which means you’ll have to hire a professional from the start. The permit for a gas line installation for a gas grill usually costs between $100 and $300. You can contact your installation company or building department for more accurate pricing.
