"It was great. They came out, they showed us all different kinds, and we picked out what we wanted. They came back out within two weeks. They make the windows themselves so that you don't have to go to a separate factory. It was a very nice experience. They took out literally a wall in my living room for the bay window. They had them installed. They took out the sliding glass door in my kitchen which had to be special ordered because it was originally a french door that was converted into a sliding door. They did both of them in the same day and quickly. It didn't even take the whole day. They showed up promptly and got to work right away. They were done before 2 in the afternoon. That's not even that generous on the time. They were just bam, bam, bam. I would recommend them to anybody."

"Install process went smooth. Anytime I called they were always very helpful. Only real downside was that the glass break sensors didn't adhere to the wall well. Support recommended screwing them to the wall and that fixed it."

"

Since we are absentee owners of a home in Bluffton I used Angie's List to find a company to get an estimate on the repair. I contacted Southern Grace and within  2 hours received a call back with an apology for taking so long to respond. Because they just happened to be in the area they were going to look at the problem and get back to me.

I got a call expecting an estimate and time frame for repair but instead was told " it wasn't a big deal so we just went ahead and fixed it but there's no charge !!" This took about  6 hours from first call to problem resolved!

I would have been ecstatic just to get a timely call back from a contractor but this company obviously based on their ratings takes customer service, responsiveness , professionalism very seriously.  I'm happy to know I have someone local I can comfortably rely on if I have any exterior home issues in the future.

Glass and Mirrors FAQs, answered by experts

You can use a commercial water repellent treatment for glass on your shower doors to prevent water spots. Take care to only apply the product to glass. Letting air circulate also helps prevent water spots, as water is less likely to remain on the glass for a long time with good air circulation. Run your vent fan, open a window, and leave the shower door open for about half an hour after using the shower.

All of the things you use to help you get clean can leave your shower door looking dirty. Water can leave mineral deposits as well as unsightly spots when drops of water dry on the glass. Soap and shampoo can cause build-up and residue that leaves a layer of soap scum in your shower, which then attracts dirt. Mold and mildew can also contribute to dirty shower doors; these fast-growing organisms thrive in areas with poor air circulation, damp conditions, and residue from things like soap and shampoo.

The best way to transport wine glasses is to pack them upright in a divided, padded box designed specifically for stemware. First, wrap each glass individually with bubble wrap or packing paper, ensuring both the bowl and the delicate stem are cushioned. If you don't have a divided box, you can still pack them safely. After wrapping each glass and securing the material with tape, place them upright in a sturdy box. Layer soft items like dish towels, crumpled paper, or clothing between the glasses to prevent them from touching. Fill any remaining gaps with additional padding to keep the glasses snug and prevent shifting. Finally, clearly label the box as “FRAGILE GLASSWARE” or “FRAGILE–HANDLE WITH CARE” to ensure careful handling.

You should avoid multi-surface cleaners, bleach, and any cloth or scrubbing material that has a rough surface when cleaning mirrors. Multi-surface cleaners and bleach will get smudges and debris off of the glass, but they more often leave behind cleaner residue because they don’t evaporate like a glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol. Additionally, any abrasive material or even the scrubbing side of a sponge can scratch your glass or coatings on the glass, gradually making the mirror look hazy.

To tell if a window is single or double-pane, focus on the edge. Double-pane windows have two glass layers separated by a spacer, which you can usually see around the edges. For single-pane windows, it’s just one sheet of glass. Another easy trick: shine a light at the window—single-pane glass reflects once, while double-pane glass reflects twice. Lastly, if you feel both sides of the glass on a cold day, double-paned windows will feel warmer because of the insulating gap between the panes.
