"From first contact thru job completion, this company is A+++! It's so important to get a locksmith you can trust and who is licensed, as there are some fake and scary locksmiths out there on Google. (Believe me, I talked to some, and I was pretty freaked out.) We were SUPER relieved to connect with Madd-Lock on Angi's, and Landon was the ultimate professional! Our storm door handle and lock were loose and the handle fell off. We thought we'd need a new one. Landon was expert and honest, and it was a simple quick fix for him, and he had our lock and handle working perfectly in no time! For a very reasonable price! He kept us apprised every step of the way. He was also very patient with me, as I was nervous after the bizarre Google contacts I had made. We put Landon/Madd-Lock into our permanent rolodex for ALL future locksmith needs. Awesome! 10 out of ten!!!"

Small jobs welcome

"Loy replaced a backdoor in our older home. He worked long and hard to make sure the doors were squarely hung, opened and closed smoothly and fit perfectly. He finished the job in one day. He was very pleasant to work with, and I would hire him again."

"Bill was super responsive, able to provide same-day service, all fees were clearly stated (no hidden costs). He was polite and friendly. He even found a way to save us money. Bill double checked the cost with me prior to starting the work and it was all very reasonable. I will hire him again for future projects."

"They were prompt ... actually more like "in a hurry" ... even though they said they gave me "a bargain" it still seemed costly to me, but I haven't had any dealings with locksmiths in a LONG time, so prices may be quite a bit higher than I thought ... on the bright side, the locksmith knew exactly what he was doing and was very efficient ... I had the feeling that he "had places to go" and was "very directive.""

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

Typically, it can take around 15 minutes to rekey a lock. The time depends on the type of lock and how skilled you are at rekeying. The first time you rekey a lock, it may take a little longer. Once you get the hang of the process, it will move along much more quickly.

Yes, many locksmiths offer 24/7 emergency services for business lockouts, broken keys, and security breaches.

Locksmiths offer keyless entry systems, high-security locks, panic bars, electronic access control, and biometric security solutions.

It’s possible, but depends on the design of your lock. Some door locks that lack a keyhole do boast a small hole on the exterior handle or knob. This hole’s primary function is to allow water to drain out of the lock, in addition to giving homeowners an easy spot to insert lubrication. However, you can typically use a paperclip in this pinhole to unlock the door by manipulating the mechanism inside.

There are many types of deadbolts, but these tips work on most. First, address any grime buildup. A bit of WD-40 will loose up rust and dirt so the deadbolt can turn. Inspect the door and frame alignment if this doesn't resolve the issue. Adjust the strike plate or the deadbolt's position to improve alignment. If the problem persists, disassemble the lock to inspect for damaged or worn parts. If you are unsure how to do it, hire a local locksmith.
