Small jobs welcome

"Roger and his team did a wonderful job installing my new deep soaker tub and surround walls, also in one day! I chose Roger as my contractor to support his small business during the COVID pandemic."

"Where do I begin with the praise for this wonderful company?? Sounds silly but they deserve the hype! We had 3 bath companies bid on our shower/tub replacement in late October and BathPro, KC came in way under, saving us $1,500 for the exact same service and actually a BETTER, higher quality, more customized tub and surround. Ron was so understanding and upfront with us on exactly what to expect. The price was unbeatable but the caveat was that they were very busy at that time and we may have to wait til possibly February for installation. I was told theyâ d do their best to have it done by Christmas, but Ron stressed it couldnâ t be guaranteed, and we should expect a February timeframe. Can you imagine my shock and delight when Ron called the first week of December asking if December 10th worked for us? The installer they sent (Zach) was considerate and professional, cleaning up as he went along. Youâ d never guess we had a bath remodel happening aside from a drop cloth leading from the bathroom to the front door. He literally worked with the door closed reducing the noise, and cleaned as he worked so no mess could ever be seen. He also went above and beyond when our homeâ s water supply faucet knob cracked and sprung a leak during the job. So he had to stop the leak, drop everything and go to a hardware store and get new parts to repair the water supply faucet for usâ at no charge. I felt terrible and offered to at least pay for the parts. He refused to tell me the total trying to avoid any compensation. So kind! So when I say this company is awesome, Iâ m not exaggerating. They were personable, very kind, professional, their pricing came in well below the competition, and way ahead of schedule! AND yes, the completed project was excellent! Zach left a beautiful sparkling-clean bathroom with a very pretty new tub and surroundâ all in a day and a half! Iâ d give them 10 stars if I could!"

"This company is easy to work with! Great installation. James and Andrew arrived on time, worked diligently, were quite pleasant, and they left our home as clean as it was when they arrived. They installed a corner shower in our lower-level half bath, and it is perfect! We also found our salesperson Steven to be professional, friendly and very helpful. West Shore Home is a company I will recommend to anyone wanting a shower or tub installed. Great work guys!"

"Five Star Bath Solutions did an excellent job replacing our tub/shower. From dealing with their sales rep to the installer, the whole experience was pleasant. The work was done well. They were quick and cleaned up after themselves. The installer even made friends with our cat (who wanted to help through the install). I will use Five Star Bath Solutions again in the future."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

If you have to hold the toilet handle (also called the toilet lever) down to flush, you probably have a chain problem. A chain that cannot fully lift the flapper will close too early and not clear the toilet bowl. Try adjusting the chain length so there’s about ½ inch of slack.

Yes, a toilet, sink, and shower can share the same vent. This is a common installation method that can simplify plumbing and save space. However, there are important considerations. The vent and associated plumbing must be large enough to handle the demands of all fixtures without compromising the vent's effectiveness. Additionally, the toilet should always be located downstream of all other fixtures. Because requirements can vary and space might be limited, it is essential to check your local building and plumbing codes and consult with a qualified plumber to ensure the installation is done correctly.

A washing machine should drain the water used during its cycle through a drainpipe and out through the house’s plumbing. This is the same plumbing that sinks and shower drains run to, and if the U-bend is installed correctly, it shouldn’t smell. The total drainage from the house is then integrated into the city sewer system or, if you’re in the country, dispersed into a septic tank.

Repairing a bathroom leak costs an average of $280, but shower and tub leaks can cost up to $500, depending on the issue. Ongoing leaks behind or under your tub can lead to mold growth, wood rot, and hidden water damage in your bathroom, so if your leak has been going on for a while, you could pay several thousand dollars to remove the tub and address the damage underneath.

Yes, ammonia does damage pipes if used or disposed of improperly. Although ammonia-based cleaners are commonly used to unclog drain pipes, they either come already diluted or instruct the user to dilute them before use. Otherwise, undiluted ammonia is too caustic and could corrode certain plumbing types, such as PVC.
