Israel and the crew from Oasis Tree service was by far the most knowledgeable, professional, efficient and just plain nice to do business with. They have all the equipment needed to get the job done. Matt worked the saw and articulation boon bucket. His efficiency with power saw and boon was outstanding. The top branches were at least 50 feet up. And clean up was amazing. I usually get 3 quotes. This time each quote had a different proposal since I was trying to save a hugh Black Oak. Israel's recommendation turned out to be the best and most cost efficient. I am very happy with the whole process and highly recommend them."

They used all the appropriate safety equipment, and removed several large limbs in segments so that the falling debris did not damage the lawn. The crew chipped the branches and debris, and raked the lawn before they left. I will use them again for any of my tree maintenance needs."

No. Although you have the right to trim the branch if it overhangs your property, you don’t have the right to take the fruit. Since the tree’s care is the responsibility of the neighbor, the fruit is also theirs to pick. This is also a situation where having a conversation with your neighbor is a good idea. They might not mind if you take some fruit, especially if it’s on a branch that’s on your property.

Generally, you’ll want to prune back the trunk by 1 to 2 feet each year to promote bushy growth. Doing so concentrates vegetative buds closer to the bottom of the tree, where you can easily harvest fruit. For side shoots that are a year old, leave at least six leaves. 

Never remove more than 30% of a tree’s foliage during pruning—even if your tree is really overgrown. Removing this much foliage at a time could kill your tree.

The best way is to start controlling tree height long before it grows too large, via careful pruning through the years. But that’s not always possible. If a tree has become too high or too large, use selective pruning to remove the most troublesome branches, one by one, without topping the tree. Gently shaping a tree like this can, over time, correct problems. You can also find growth inhibitors to spray on a tree to stop it from growing too rapidly, but use these sparingly if at all.

While trees can grow in the curb strip between the sidewalk and the street, this placement often poses the problem of interfering with overhead power lines. It’s best to consult your local utility provider and tree planting service before transplanting a tree that might grow into power lines. Also, you should never work within 20 feet of a live power line to avoid the risk of electric shock. Tree branches should never touch nearby power lines, so it’s essential to ensure your tree isn’t in danger of growing too close to them.

This depends on the type of tree you are moving. Deciduous trees excel when moved in early spring before growth begins or in the fall after the leaves drop. Evergreens are most successfully transplanted in early spring or at the tail-end of summer. Pine trees do best in early fall but wait until late fall to move maple trees. Basically, you want a dormant tree with reduced foliage, but winter is a no-go, as frost in the soil is a huge risk to the roots as you dig.
