The entire crew team very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable and were easy to work with. Everything was done in a timely manner. "Dave from Foundation Recovery came and did my annual basement inspection. I’ve had a sump pump - and gutters to direct the water to it - installed by them, for three years. And so far I’ve had no water in my basement. Even during the heavy spring rains in KC. Dave was very friendly and professional, and very knowledgeable about basements and their problems. He answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I appreciate the great service Dave! Thanks."

"They called as soon as I searched for a pro and coincidentally, they’re the same pro our friends referred to us as they also got their plumbing services when they bought a home. We didn’t have to wait for a week or so, they made it possible to have the job completed before we left (we were just visiting from Vegas to help our son moved to his new home). Everything went flawless, Trey went above and beyond. He noted other issues that need to be taken care of and he finished it in a timely manner, no hiccups thank God."

"Explained exactly what they would do and the condition they would leave the area in. Weâ re good for their word. Very heavy rain just three days afterward and everything held. No water in basement since they did their work and itâ s been 9 months."

"We are a GC and have used the Mac Wilson team for years on many commercial projects. They are reliable, knowledgeable, and flexible (as many things change of the fly in this industry). They are absolutely great to work with, we will continue to do business with them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a plumber in the area."

"Service technician attempted to auger main sewer line with powerful, large auger which he had to transport down basement steps. He was able to clear line up to point where it left house but encountered snag and was unable to retrieve auger. He then televised line and showed me a large mass of tree roots that was blocking sewer line and where the auger was stuck. It took him quite a bit of time and difficulty to free auger. He then informed me that the concrete floor in the corner of the basement would have to be cut out around a clean-out since it was impossible to clear the snag with the auger. He also informed me his company could perform that service but not him since it required a plumber. He called in the request for an estimate in my presence but no one ever called to schedule the work. So I hired another plumber who dug out the floor and found the snag exactly where the technician said it was. Even when the clean-out was removed, the plumber had a difficult time clearing the roots and said that no auger could have cleared it. So I am very happy with the services of this company even though they failed to follow-up with an estimate for the additional work."

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can add a bathroom to an unfinished basement, but you’ll want to take proper precautions if doing so. As with any bathroom addition, you’ll need to make sure that it’s approved by local building authorities first. With unfinished basements, you especially need to keep an eye on proper ventilation practices.

Most people consider a French drain to be one of the most effective solutions for foundation leaks, but it’s not always a standalone solution. French drains will help keep water away from your foundation to reduce the risk of leaking and structural damage from soil expansion, but depending on your foundation type and location, you might need other systems or techniques—like soil gradation and gutter and leader installation—to resolve the underlying problem.

Flooded basement cleanup can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks, depending on the extent of water damage, the type of water involved, and the need for repairs or mold remediation. Severe cases with structural damage or extensive mold may require longer timelines. Quick action and professional help can speed up the process and reduce overall damage.

If your basement often leaks after heavy rain, it’s probably caused by hydrostatic pressure. When the ground is saturated with water, it can put pressure on the exterior of your home’s foundation, causing cracks in the basement wall and pushing water through any existing weak spots. Over time, hydrostatic pressure can cause structural damage to your home.

Whether your homeowners insurance covers slab leak repairs depends on your specific policy and the cause of the leak. Many policies cover slab leaks resulting from a covered peril, such as a natural disaster, a falling tree, or pipes freezing and bursting within the slab. However, damage caused by invading tree roots, corrosion, or leaks from appliances may not be covered by a standard policy. It's a good idea to also check your home warranty plan for potential coverage if an appliance is the source. Contact your insurance provider for a full explanation of what your policy covers.
