"Kudos to Mark, Tom & Dustin for the excellent remodel work they performed during the hot July days! They were always on time & worked efficiently and never complained the entire time about the heat. Superior work & always were smiling and having a good time together. All were very respectful and courteous to myself and my wife. We'll be sure to use Mark and his crew on our next project."

"This is our 2nd remodel of our bathrooms and we had 2 bathrooms done at the same time. Because the first bathroom he did was done so beautifully, we used Mychael again in another house for a bathroom remodel. This young man and his team are wonderful. In just a couple of days, we had our bathrooms redone and one is a handicap accessible for my elderly dad. They are beautiful, well done, and the price was affordable!! THANK YOU!!"

"We had a kitchen and three bathrooms remodeled at the Lake of the Ozarks. It can be difficult to find reliable workers in that area. Communication and reliability were excellent from day one. Tony and Shelly were very responsive to any questions. The work was done on time and on budget. All of our little picky requests were satisfied quickly and without hesitation. We would definitely hire them again."

Remodel Design questions, answered by experts

It is technically possible to draw your own blueprints, but the process is extremely involved and really demands help from an expert. A professional architect has an understanding of design elements, interior design, the functionality of different rooms in a home, and how everything from furniture, outlets, and light switches should be laid out to serve you and your family best. Hiring an architect for blueprints can get expensive, but it’s the most responsible way to begin a new construction project. If you’re keen on DIYing, you could consider starting the process and then having a professional take over.

While concrete walls do not need to "breathe" in the traditional sense of the word, they do require waterproofing and dehumidifying methods, particularly in basements below the water table. Concrete both contains moisture from its initial installation and can absorb water when exposed. Ensuring proper basement ventilation , installing a vapor barrier, and controlling water exposure are all important tasks.

The most common scale for residential blueprints is 1/4 of an inch equals one foot. This scale is the most popular because it’s easier for everyone involved, from professionals to homeowners, to understand the building’s actual dimensions. Also, it allows blueprints to have the necessary details without cluttering the page.

The longest part of building a custom home is the design phase. It takes multiple professionals and a ton of work to bring your vision for your dream home to life while sticking to a homebuilding budget and also ensuring everything is built to code. Expect the design phase for a custom home build to take six months to a year.

Mid-century modern architecture was a popular home style throughout the U.S. from the 1950s to 1970s. Most homes feature a wide and symmetrical floor plan with low-sloped roofs and floor-to-ceiling windows. Its minimalism and balanced appearance are back on the home style scene, particularly when maximizing sunlight, airflow, and a blend with the home's natural surroundings.
