"Finding someone trustworthy that does a great job with great customer service is hard to do. When the project is expensive it makes it more nerve wracking to decide who to go with. If you are lucky enough to find someone that checks those boxes, they become your go to people for your projects and as well as who you recommend. A few years ago I had Hoffman replace my driveway and was completely happy with their service from initial contact to completion. Years later I’m still completely satisfied with my decision to use them. Recently I decided to pour a shed pad and replace an old back patio. There wasn’t a doubt in my mind on who I should call. Like last time the entire experience was top notch. Jessica is amazing to work with from the start and is very friendly and communicative. The owner Mark really cares about the quality of work and clearly appreciates your business. His son, who runs the concrete crew, is also awesome to work with and really cares about a customer-first approach and performing quality jobs. The rest of the crew is also very engaging and respectful and performs high quality work. If you or someone you know is looking for concrete work I cannot recommend them enough. I have a high expectation for work done at my house and they exceed those expectations. You cannot go wrong giving them a call and having them perform the work. I've been in Masonry for over a Decade, I've worked on some of the LARGEST houses in the area. I Repair Entrance monuments as well as erect new ones.I offer custom or cookie cutter (generic) brick mail boxes,Chimneys of all sizes,custom outdoor fireplaces/ fire pits that tend to be visually stunning and tailored to the surroundings to give an outdoor area the undefinable upgrade that it always does. The only thing new to me is who I'm doing it for, I owe it to myself to work for myself. Each job that I'm called upon, I am grateful for, each job well done leaves a happy home and business owner.This is a smaller operation on any given day and that grants me the ability to remain flexible in my hours. On the bigger projects, I call in the "brothers". so if your a contractor making a deadline, I can handle deadlines. This way I'm not under the pressure of keeping guys working forty hours a week. leaving me flexible enough to tackle smaller projects solo or with little help.. but I'm at my happiest when I'm able to bring a whole crew of guys out and rock n roll. I am a Journeyman Union Carpenter by trade but after 15 years left it to pursue other things. I have had rental properties and done hundreds of property rehabs and remodels over the years. I have a working knowledge of plumbing and electrical and I take pride in my work. I also rehab and refinish antique wood furniture and build custom furniture out of old wood and recycled materials. No job is too small and I enjoy meeting all the people that this kind of work leads me too.

"Joe Lane, alias Joe James did landscaping last year. All initially went well. He and his crew removed bushes, installed rock and milch, power washed the driveway and removed junk from my garage. He gained my confidence in his honesty and swore that he had never cheated a customer. I advanced a $1,000 payment for topsoil and grass seed and he has never returned. Since July of last year all I have received from him are excuses and promises. Hr also promised to replace the bushes , most of which died. I requested he refund my money and he has not responded. BEWARE!! Don’t trust him."

"I purchased a swimming pool from this company and paid half of the total price in a deposit of $4800 using my credit card. They strongly encourage you to use pay with a check and charge a 3 percent transaction fee for a credit card. After reading all of their negative reviews and BBB complaints, I felt that it was worth 3 percent to have the peace of mind that a credit card allows. At no time and no where on my receipt did it say I could not cancel and get a FULL refund. A week later they called me & told me that the pool I paid the deposit for was not available and they didn't know if it ever would be. They also wanted to have me switch to a different pool that was "significantly more expense at no extra cost to me" but couldn't provide me with any details of the pool so that I could check to see if it was legitimate. I requested a refund of my deposit because they could not provide what they had sold me. When I went in to pick up the receipt for the refund, I was informed that I would be charged a $144 transaction fee because I used my credit card. I refused and came home and called my credit card company and they advised that there is no transaction fee when a refund is issued. There are very limited options locally for pool companies, but PLEASE read the reviews on Yelp and elsewhere and the BBB complaints before you give these people any business, most read the same as mine."
