"Last fall I bought a house with a gas fireplace, and during the inspection it was noted the damper was blocked. The inspector thought that there was probably debris in the chimney causing the blockage. So I hired Absolute Clean to unblock and clean the chimney. They found that the blockage was caused not by debris but by a piece of mortar protruding from the masonry. In fact the chimney had probably never been used even though the house was 47 years old. So it turned out that there wasn't really a whole lot of chimney sweeping to do as far as build-up, but there was a little debris which they cleaned out, and they checked it to make sure that it was safe to use. They showed me how to turn it on safely and gave me some tips on positioning the logs, and where to buy gas logs if I wanted a different look. Very nice fellows.

We discussed the problem I was having, and they gave me several ideas to try to get my A/C unit running properly before actually coming to take a look. I ended up taking their suggestions - cleaning the unit and blowing out the drain line - which resolved the issue. "We bought a century-old house (3 stories, 1800 sq ft) that had been neglected for a while prior to our purchase. Al from Sol's quoted us a good price and said it would probably take him 3-4 hours with help from an employee. After getting into the project, Al realized that the vents were much dirtier than he thought (some of the dirtiest he's ever seen). He ended up staying for 8 hours with a helper to not only finish the job, but do a thorough job without cutting any corners. They took apart the furnace to clean the coils, took of the heat registers to clean them, made everything look brand new. I was so impressed with their dedication I gave them a little extra money for all of the effort and called Al to come back and do some minor repairs around the house. It's really rare to find people who take such pride in their work. All they asked in return for their extra effort was that I give them some good recommendations, which I am happy to do.
