"In addition to 2inch thick Thermal Shield with insulation of my rim joists they completed, I also hired them to complete my Radon Testing and then [based upon the results] just had them install their Radon Remediation System - Judd was excellent to work with and did listen to my basement unique needs and completed all the work as requested. "I took roof inspection deal ..$49 for a roof inspection by an inspector with $100 repair credit due to extreme weather, Resealing around pipe collars, exhaust fans, vents, and chimney flashings, Nailing down any loose shinglesChecking for interior leaks, Summary report with areas of concern (includes photos of areas needing repair),Professional recommendations and action plan (if necessary) . Roofer was supposed to come at 5PM, he went there at 4.25 Pm. He talked to my wife and asked whats the problem of roof and what we needed with roof. Its inspection so they should do the inspection and do as they advertised. Talked to him on phone and told him about a shingle on the backyard and told him where its gone from. He said thats the decoratve part of shingle and nothing to worry about. I asked him if he should fix it. He said no need to do it. It will damage roof more. I asked him if he is going on roof to check it. He said no need, its new roof installed in 2011 and going on roof could damage something. I don't know if that's true. Since I had seen that shingle on the ground due to recent strong winds I wanted them to check if any loose shingles and fix it. I think I wasted money by buying this deal."

Eifs Installers FAQs, answered by experts

The average cost to install an egress window is approximately $3,900, with a typical range between $2,500 and $5,300, though costs can be higher. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the window's size, type, material, and glass quality. Other variables include labor costs, location, excavation needs, and whether permits or a structural engineer consultation are required. The price of the window itself often depends on the number of panes:

  • Single-pane: $100–$400

  • Double-pane: $200–$500

  • Triple-pane: $300–$800

Additional features like window wells or covers will also increase the total project cost. It is advisable to obtain multiple quotes from professionals to get a comprehensive understanding of the expenses for your specific project.

Yes, egress windows must meet local building codes for size and accessibility. Professional installers ensure compliance.

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

Yes, egress windows are grandfathered. However, this comes with some specifications. If you are remodeling a basement or adding a sleeping area, you’ll need to update the egress windows to be up to proper code. But, if you’re leaving your home as is, you do not have to adhere to these requirements.
