"The crew was very efficient and hard-working. They worked from early morning into the late evening to get the fence installed in a day. The fence is beautiful and really enhances the appearance of the yard."

"I had a damaged fence due go a recent storm. Mr. Smith was very timely in his response to my inquiry as well as showing up to bid the job and ultimately to make the repairs. He also did some extras outside the original repair. His work is excellent and I would recommend him highly."

"Rob was fantastic! I actually wanted him to do some landscaping but wound up hiring him to fix my broken gates. He went out got everything new himself & took away the old fence. He also added a gate to the other side of my house & again took the old fence away. Looks great! In fact so good I’m having him do my entire fence! He’s also reasonably priced & such a nice guy! Couldn’t be happier!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The best wood for fence posts are redwood, cedar, and pressure-treated pine. Wood posts made from these materials will typically lasts between 15 and 30 years, depending on the specific type you choose and your local climate. With proper care and maintenance, a fence post made of these materials can withstand most weather conditions.

The most affordable metal fence type is wire at just $3 to $5 per linear foot. Wire fences come in a variety of styles and do a good job of marking perimeters and keeping animals in or out of certain areas. While they’re very easy to install and repair, many homeowners find them unattractive, and many homeowners associations won’t allow them.

Painting or staining protects fences from environmental damage, enhances durability, and improves curb appeal with a fresh, customized look.

Check with your local laws, which might state that you have to build a fence around your plunge pool. If you have children or pets or live in an area with abundant wildlife, you should consider building a fence around your pool for safety. Pools can present a drowning hazard, and while plunge pools are not very deep, younger children can get hurt if they try to dive into them. A fence can help protect your family and visitors from injury.

Privacy fences in residential neighborhoods tend to stand between 6 and 8 feet tall, but local building code usually dictates the maximum height. Livestock fences that border large land plots range from 3 to 6 feet. Shorter, decorative fences, which are common in front yards, are around 3 feet tall, on average. Fence height also tends to vary by material, with wood fences usually sitting at 6 feet tall, and chain-link and wrought iron fences tending to sit at half that.
