"I highly recommend Northland Fence. They make building a fence easy! They are truly fence professionals starting from the initial meeting with the design specialist to the fence crew and the office staff plus they have a great website that includes a video of how the fence is constructed. When I first saw my finished fence I was amazed! Northland Fence exceeded my expectations! Now I have a great, high quality fence with a 10 year warranty!"
"Joe was extremely responsive, polite and professional. He was responsive by phone and by text. The guys did a great job and it took them just a couple of days. The fence looks gorgeous. They even cleaned up all the weeds and other loose branches that were laying around the fence. We live in uptown Minneapolis, so the area back by the alley can get unkempt. They cleaned everything up and were very pleasant to deal with. Whenever I had questions or was confused about anything, I'd text Joe and he responded right away. I will definitely call them up again if I need anything else done. "
"What an incredible team Hidden Fence of Minnesota has! I had a fence with a competitor and adopted two dogs, who arrived faster than anticipated. The previous organization couldn't fit me in for 2 months. I don't like to have dogs tied out and they don't either, after a month of getting tangled, damage to landscape and other, I contacted Hidden Fence of MN. While I was frustrated, they were calm and kind and able to be at my home the next day. The training was amazing, they came back a couple times and trained more. They even brought a team (trainer and dog) to ensure my pups could face temptations. Just an amazing organization. There when you need them and truly care about what they do! I recommend Hidden Fence of MN and the team they have working with them!"
"Max and his team did a phenomenal job on my fence. They were timely, efficient, a pleasure to work with and very fairly priced. I won’t be hiring any other company to build my fences in the future"
"We highly recommend Central Fence and would absolutely hire them again. Prompt, professional, honest, detail oriented, quality work with very reasonable prices."
"they agreed to put in our fence as early in the spring as possible to avoid injuring our extensive plantings. The istallation crew used miter cuts to fit all of the pieces together perfectly. They acomodated our neighbor so that there would not be a problem with their dog escaping."
"I was absolutely delighted to deal with a woman as competent and helpful as Amy. I received estimates for this work that ranged from $4500 - $15,000, and Amy's was right in the middle. She provided me with a very thorough estimate, worked with our insurance agent, and even gave us an excellent price on having some add'l work done at the same time (stairs and porch railing for the front). She was extremely patient with my incessant questions, and her crew were CRAFTSMEN, not just fence guys. The work they completed was far beyond anything I expected in terms of quality, promptness, and soliciting feedback from me. I would not hesitate to use them and to recommend them - they are extraordinary!! In a world where customer service is usually just paid lip service by others, Artistic Fence goes far beyond the expected, and are extremely professional to work with - thank you, Amy and your crew! "
"This is my second time using American Fence. The first was a cedar batton board privacy fence at a rental property I own. The second was brown vinyl chain link and galvanized chain link at my residential home. Overall the installation of both fences was tremendous. Everything went on schedule and in the manner which I was told it would. I was able to purchase both fences at a cost of roughly 10% less than other bids I had recieved. There was a downpayment paid for all material. Final payment, however, was not given until after completion and a final walk-thru. Upon conclusion my yard was so clean it seemed they had not even been there. I could not have been more satisfied. The owner of the company worked side by side with his employees, always something refreshing to see in my opinion. They were also very helpful and polite toward me and my family.
"One structure in the form of a arbor with a gate completed our fence. The other structure a small deck outside of the lower sliding glass doors, with a pergola added, gives a quiet shady respite to the yard. We also had Hal design and build a fountain feature added to the garden area itself. Which gives a soft and flowing water sound near the small deck. The work overall is outstanding with a very finished look. It was also accomplished as per estimate of time and cost. They were very considerate to make the work space neat and clean each day at finish time.
We would "highly" recommend these contractors to anyone wanting this type of excellent yard work done. "
Yes, in most places. A front yard fence is allowed by local zoning laws more often than not, but it always helps to check before building just to make sure. There may be restrictions around how tall the fence can be, what it can be made from, or where it can be built.
A fence gate can sag for several reasons. The issue often stems from the hardware, such as damaged or bent hinges, or loose screws that can no longer support the gate's weight. The gate frame itself might also have come out of square due to failing supports. Alternatively, the problem may not be the gate but the supporting fence post, which could be leaning or out of place. In many cases, fixing a sagging gate is as simple as tightening the hinge screws or upgrading to more robust hinges.
There are two things you can do to make a fence replacement easier—but keep in mind that easier doesn’t mean better. First, you can use a jack or some other type of machinery to pull the post out of the ground. If that’s not available, a digging bar can help.
Second, you can backfill the hole with gravel rather than creating a concrete footing. Keep in mind, gravel is less secure. You should only use it if you’re installing a lightweight fence or have heavier, clay soil.
You can keep a dog from digging under a fence by filling existing holes in your yard, installing a wire to your fence bottom, burying your fence bottom, making a designated digging spot, and removing visual stimuli. You can also dissuade your dog from wanting to dig under your fence and escape by scheduling more one-on-one playtime and ensuring they are getting enough exercise to keep them stimulated.
Fences made out of redwood, cedar, or pressure-treated pine are the most durable. These materials can last anywhere between 15 to 40 years so long as they are properly maintained. Make sure to clean your fence regularly and pressure wash once a year. After pressure washing, apply a sealant and/or fresh paint to keep it looking fresh.
