"We went with George (Jorge) for our concrete projects. We did a large back patio, small slab for our entry to our home, and a border for our plants. The quality of workmanship is absolutely terrible. It isn’t for lack of trying, every time they tried to fix the mistakes it got worse. The right thing to do would have been to redo the entire work. He is now no longer returning communication to address the issues we are left with. Unfortunately, we trusted and paid him in increments so we are now out $19,279.61. Also due to their negligence they turned off our sump pump and flooded our brand new basement addition that was completed March 2024. We had to get the carpet replaced which cost us an additional $1200. We are currently going to proceed with legal action. We definitely do not recommend them."

Boring (also known as directional boring) is one alternative to trenching when installing underground utilities. The main difference between directional boring versus trenching is that boring doesn’t require digging or disturbing the surface. A good slump height really depends on the project, but there is a use for nearly all slump levels. For example, low slumps are best in projects that require structure, such as curbs and roads. High slumps often require additional reinforcement, but they flow more freely into hard-to-reach spaces.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

DIY is not recommended due to the specialized equipment and expertise required. Professional services ensure accurate results.

It’s possible to rent the equipment necessary to do your own mudjacking, but we don’t recommend it. Mudjacking involves pumping a precise amount of cementitious slurry under your slab to lift it back into place and keep it there. It’s easy to pump too much or not enough, in which case you may need to call in a professional to help anyway. We strongly recommend against mudjacking any load-bearing slab, as you could easily cause irreversible structural damage to your property if you make a mistake. This is one job where paying for a professional is worthwhile.
