"I have a hobby where I spend two to five hours a day in our basement. I had been monitoring the radon levels in the basement for a number of years with one of those electronic monitors and occasionally a charcoal test kit. The levels had been hovering anywhere between 6.0 to 10.0. It would vary between the different seasons, even the weather conditions and so on. I kept telling myself being in the basement with these levels of radon is probably not a good idea. I called A1 Radon Services and talked with the owner. I explained my situation and went over the layout of our basement and house. He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what was needed. He gave me a fair price and we set up a time for the installation. I had a number of questions before the installation and each time I emailed or called, the owner returned a call or email within a short period of time and answered all my questions. Installation day arrived and the owner and his employee showed up right on time. They looked my basement over and we discussed everything they were going to do. They went to work and had my system up and running within a few hours. Everything was cleaned up nicely after the installation. I check my radon levels pretty much weekly with my electronic monitor. Since my system was installed the levels now hover around 0.5 to 0.7 which I pretty much consider to be nothing. The system is very quiet and can hardly hear it running even standing next to it outside. I figure the operation cost is $5 to $6 a month for electricity. If you have children at home and your family is being exposed to radon, I now believe these radon reduction systems are a must have in your house. This installation was money well spent and I should have done this years ago."
