"They were great moving guys. The staff was easy to work with. They moved our entire apartment and our storage unit in about eight hours. This would be the best money you could spend on a move."

"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"My gosh what a good experience. Seriously, with a mover!! The crew showed up right on time, were very careful about having runners everywhere they went (on a wet rainy day), wrapped and/or padded everything, and hustled non-stop. They asked me a number of times if I needed this or that done, or if they could help with something else. The whole move took the time they had estimated, not a bit of damage - which I find is rare! I wish I had a sixth star to give. This was perfect!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

There are different types of moving companies, and you’ll want to look for one that has experience moving houses. Ask them how many houses they’ve moved, how long they’ve been in business, whether they coordinate all of the labor, permits, and subcontractors needed, and what their liability is for any damages incurred.

Just as moving a couch by yourself isn’t always a good idea, moving a heavy bed frame by yourself is not advisable. Doing so puts you at risk of injury, and you can damage the frame if you drop it or bang it while moving it. The best way to move a heavy bed frame is to enlist the help of friends or family or hire professional movers with the experience and equipment to move it safely and efficiently.

The simplest way to move a shipping container yourself is with a tilt-bed truck. However, you’ll still need to figure out how to get the container on and off the truck.

To prepare for moving a piano, start by documenting its current condition with photos in case of any damage during the move. Secure the piano's lid and wrap the instrument, including its keys and pedals, with bubble wrap and moving blankets for protection. Note that if you have hired professional piano movers, they may handle this step for you.

Next, prepare the space. Measure any tight spaces or doorways to ensure the piano will fit through. Clear a wide path from the piano's location to the exterior door, removing any furniture or obstacles. It is also helpful to prop open doors to make the exit easier.

On moving day, ensure the moving truck can park as close to the exit as possible. For safety, keep children and pets away from the moving area to prevent accidents or distractions.

The most cost-effective way to move is to DIY most of the moving tasks, including packing, driving the moving truck, and loading and unloading. While DIY moving is typically the least expensive option, it makes the process much more time-consuming and difficult. To eliminate some of the physical and time stress associated with DIY moves, consider hiring professional movers for the most essential tasks, such as loading and unloading furniture, and completing easier tasks on your own.
