"I hired Wencl Plumbing to install a radiant heating system (boiler and baseboard radiators). The system install was poor to say the least, and it didn't work right from the beginning. I had to hire another shop to remedy all their bad work and now Wencl Plumbing is coming after me with collections agencies because I subtracted what I spent to fix their bad work from their final invoice (which wasn't enough to cover it anyway, so I'm in the hole from fixing their bad work and they're still coming after me). I'd steer clear of this outfit, no quality control whatsoever, full of...excuses, lies, and misrepresenting facts. Update Feb 2023: Currently I’m paying another shop to complete repairs to the boiler because when Wencl Plumbing installed the water softener (at the time of the boiler install) they never actually started it up. The boiler is now receiving repairs as a result of the softener not being operational, and now the softener may require replacement because it was never actually started and has been trying to run all this time. The hits keep on coming, thanks Wencl Plumbing. Update July 2024: I was contacted by a collection agency looking to collect money on behalf of this hack shop. I told them the same thing I told the last folks. The only way I'm giving that idiot a nickel is if a judge orders it, and there will be a countersuit! I spent a boatload of money to finish the job that Wencl was hired to do and could not and would not finish. Wencl Pluming is run by a hack, there's no quality control, no accountability, no professionalism. This is in regards to management/ ownership, I'm sure some of the folks working there are great. My beef is with Sam Wencl, the hack pin-head owner."

No, it is not advisable to spray pesticides down the drain in your home. Most drinking water and wastewater treatment systems are not properly equipped to remove pesticides. Should pesticides infiltrate waterways, they can cause harm to plants, fish, or other living things. In most areas, pouring pesticides down the drain is illegal due to the potential harm it causes. 

Conventional drain cleaners, like you might buy at the grocery store, use bleach (sodium hydroxide) as the main ingredient. On the contrary, biodegradable drain cleaners use gentler ingredients such as baking soda, vinegar, and boiling water to clear out drains. 

Bleach is extremely corrosive and releases harmful gasses—hence the need for wearing safety protections like rubber gloves, eye goggles, face masks, and long sleeves and properly ventilating the room while using bleach. Biodegradable cleaners, however, don’t use bleach. Therefore they are safer to use, especially if you have a house full of children.

In the majority of cases, homeowners insurance will not cover a main sewer line root clog. The reason is that most insurance companies consider tree root damage to sewer lines as common wear and tear, which is also preventable. If the drain is frozen, the pipes connecting to the washing machine are likely frozen.
