"Footprints Floors did an excellent job installing my kitchen ceramic tile backsplash. Gary, the owner, arranged a time to look at my project, discuss what I would like done, made suggestions and answered all of my questions. His quote was very reasonable. He explained the process of the installation, how long the project would take, etc. He was in communication with me and gave me updates as the project moved forward. Gary is very personable, reliable and I got the sense that he truly enjoys meeting people and takes pride in providing excellent workmanship. I cant say enough good things about the installer. He was polite, precise and a hard worker. His attention to detail was impressive. He prepped the area and cleaned up the area when he was finished. His workmanship is outstanding. My new backsplash is stunning. I would not hesitate hiring Footprint Floors in the future."

"We had a partial bathroom renovation involving flooring (tile), drywall, painting, and reconnecting plumbing. We were very happy with the quality of work and care taken throughout the entire job. We continue to rehire Chris White for other home projects."

"**Review for Jesse Lang at Precision Tile Designs** I recently had the pleasure of working with Jesse Lang from Precision Tile Designs for a bathroom tile installation, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results! From start to finish, his professionalism and expertise truly stood out. The layout he designed for my bathroom was exceptional—he took the time to understand my vision and brought it to life in a way that exceeded my expectations. Every tile is perfectly aligned, and the overall aesthetic is stunning. It’s clear that he has a keen eye for detail and a passion for his craft. What I appreciated most was his willingness to work around my schedule and accommodate my specific requirements. He was always communicative and flexible, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely cares about their clients and goes the extra mile to ensure satisfaction. If you’re looking for a talented and reliable tile setter, I highly recommend Jesse Lang at Precision Tile Designs. His work has transformed my bathroom into a beautiful space, and I’m confident he can do the same for you. Thank you, Jesse, for your outstanding service! You’ve earned a lifelong customer!"

"This was the third time we worked with Atreas on a project. We did not have a plan and relied on Corey's advice and expertise. The bathroom came out beautiful, on time and under budget. We could not be happier and will definitely hire them again for future projects. Uploading one "before" photo and several "after.""

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Glass tile is one of the easiest materials to maintain. It is both stain and water-resistant, making it easy to clean and incredibly durable. This also makes it resistant to mold and mildew. However, make sure it’s kept clean, otherwise, your grout might start to degrade. Glass is liable to scratch, so ensure you’re using non-abrasive materials and products, like soft sponges and wipes.

Yes, it would be best if you waterproofed your shower walls before tiling. The cement backing board behind the tile is not waterproof; it’s only water-resistant. On top of your tile backing board, be sure to use a waterproof shower membrane before you start installing your shower tiles.

You can use sanded or unsanded grout for a shower pan, but sanded grout isn’t the best option for shower walls. For those areas, you’ll want to use unsanded grout, which works well on vertical surfaces and is less likely to slump than sanded grout. Alternatively, you can use epoxy grout for shower walls.

Installing kitchen countertop tiles on a mold and moisture-resistant cement backer board is one of the best options. When fitted correctly on top of a plywood base, it’s stable and long-lasting. Old-fashioned cement board is economical, cuts neatly and easily with a circular or jigsaw, and screws into plywood without any difficulty.

It’s not necessarily normal for tiles to lift, although it’s one of the common issues people may have with their tile flooring. Tiles correctly installed by pros with expansion joints should not lift over time. However, if the installation was done poorly, you might see tiles tenting or lifting as the house settles. This is more common in high-moisture areas with extreme temperatures.
