"Steve was great to work with and gave us a great price compared to other contractors. His crew was very meticulous and exact and cleaned up every day. The boss, Alfredo, was pleasantly polite and took care of everything that was needed as well as things that I asked for that were probably stretching the bid/project. I would let Steve know about things that I had Alfredo do for us and Steve was okay with these minor requests and did not charge us extra. Part of this bid was to replace and rebuild our stairs from the three-season porch down to the lower deck and his carpenter Jim did a great job as well. GOOD JOB STEVE! "I first met Jeff Moore of Capital Siding, Windows and Roofing in 2018.  It was time to reroof my 110+ year-old house (that has more hips and angles than a fashion show) and I wanted to do it right.  I took 5 bids (6 if you count the company that was a no-show) and ended up with a range of bids that varied by nearly $20,000.   Capital came in near the midpoint of the bids but it wasn't the price that sold me - it was the care they put into their bid and the feeling I got from Jeff and, later, his son Danny.  They included more detail than any of the other companies I considered and I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Jeff over the course of a couple of weeks where he answered all of my questions and explained all of my options.  Jeff struck me right from the start as an earnest, straight-up guy who was giving me his best offer.  No posturing, no pressure, just a good offer and a good feeling. Undertaking a major project on my house, my biggest asset, was stressful.  I was worried about everything.  Is this a fair price?  Is this the right company?  Will the crew stay on schedule?  Will they damage the property with their equipment?  Do I have any idea what I am doing?  Ultimately, you have to make a decision and for me, that's usually going with a gut feeling.  My gut said Capital so I signed the contract. Once work got underway, Azael, Jeff's primary crew chief, was on site every day.  He's a great guy, easy to talk to, always with a smile and a laugh.  The crew did their work, cleaned up every day, and kept the materials organized.  Couldn't ask for more.  Jeff and Danny came out several times during the project and we spoke by phone regularly.  Calls were usually returned the same day and always by the next day.  Changes (like my decision to add gutter covers) were handled clearly and easily and there were no financial surprises at all.  They did an excellent job. If I could do it again, would I choose Capital?  Wellllll...yes.  In fact, I did!   In August of 2023, while I was out of town with my family, our house got walloped by the big hail storm that rolled through Minneapolis.  By the time we got home a week later, work had already started on 4 houses on my block.   My first call was to Capital and they came out a day later.  My beautiful roof and old siding had taken major damage.  Danny and one of the roofing crew walked every inch of my roof and took over 100 pictures.  The damage was significant but the integrity of the roof was intact.  Because of the severity of the storm, Jeff was booked until very late in the season so we decided to push it until the spring of 2024.  That turned out to be a good decision as I spent a good portion of the winter arguing with my insurance company.  Every time they sent an adjuster or someone to take pictures or get a materials sample, one of Jeff's team was present.  I finally got things sorted out with insurance, spring arrived, and Oscar, Capital's other crew chief who is just as approachable and friendly and great as Azael, came out with his guys and got going.  They did another beautiful job on the roof and the siding is just fantastic.  They did tons of hand-bent aluminum work to mimic the architectural detail my insurance wouldn't cover.  I think it looks better than it did originally.  My wife and I are completely happy with the work and love with the way our house looks now. Total satisfaction with two excellent jobs six years apart is no fluke. Capital is as solid as they come and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. "I called Joe to fix a leak that was coming in from my bathroom fan vents (after the first guy I called never showed up when he said he would fix it). He immediately identified the real problem that the first guy missed. and came back a couple days later to complete the repair. While he was there, he also identified a couple other minor issues - One he fixed that day (without charge), and the other he told me to contact the company that replaced our roof 5 years ago as they should fix it under warranty instead of him charging me. Joe took the time to explain each step of the repair, and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend Joe for any roofing work!"
