"They did a great job and were very professional. Our 27 year old floors look brand new again! I am a skeptic these days regarding the accuracy of reviews as we have been burned before. Rest assured this will not be the case here. Grain will do a wonderful job on your hardwood floors."

"It started out well, but gradually declined. I had a recurring issue with them not cleaning the floors in my bathrooms and laundry room- they use a spray bottle and wipe around stuff on the floors. I issued complaints several times when I would see dust and hair in the corners of the bathroom or a Q-tip under the bathroom scale and even had them come back to scrub the floors one time. I thought that might help them remember, but that didn't work either. They weren't the same crew each time - sometimes there were 2 cleaners and sometimes there were 3. I had to remind them to scrub the floors or it didn't get done. I gave up. They do nice work on dusting and vacuuming, but I can keep up with that. I need them to do a thorough cleaning of my floors and bathrooms. Also we had a fixed day they would come, but it never was at the same time. I never knew what time they were coming. I can be flexible, but it would have been nice to know the day before when to expect them. They worked quickly, but that's not always the best for quality. I really wanted to keep them, but just got frustrated that they kept missing the floors so I gave up."

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Yes, options like MDF or polyurethane require less upkeep while maintaining style.

Professionals use various tools and cleaning solutions based on the type of floor they’re cleaning. They often use industrial steam cleaners to pull debris out of the carpet. For localized stains, they may use a commercial cleaner or a mixture of water, vinegar, and dish soap. For tile, they’ll typically use dish soap and hot water, plus a mixture of baking soda and hot water for the grout. For cleaning wood floors, they might use a low-heat steamer, a mop with an oil wood floor cleaner, or a mixture of hot water, vinegar, and lemon juice.

Before installing shoe molding, evaluate redoing or refinishing any floors and painting your walls or baseboard before putting on your shoe molding. If you don’t already have baseboard trim, you should install that before adding shoe molding. Shoe molding is the final touch. Additionally, a carpenter or other professional that’s installing shoe molding might also give you a deal on installing crown molding and replacing other trim if you get them done at the same time.

Dust mops are the best option for tackling dirt and dust on marble floors. Vacuums aren’t a good idea as the brushes and beater rolls can scratch and damage your marble floors. If you must use a vacuum, make sure your vacuum has a setting for hard floors, and take care not to apply too much pressure when rolling the vacuum across your marble floor.

The cost for professional floor cleaning is $250 on average. This cost can range from $100 to $1,500, depending on the type of flooring and its square footage.

For example, natural stone flooring requires specialized techniques and care, so you'll spend closer to the higher end of the cost range. The cost of cleaning tile and grout is more cost-effective, where you'll pay an average of $0.50 to $3.50 per square foot.
