"A new furnace had been installed and the old boiler needed to be removed from the basement. One team came in at 7:30 as scheduled, set up a clean room, and stripped the boiler as well as taped and coated exposed asbestos on pipes that we had identified in the earlier site visit. Then they left, and within 30 minutes another team came in and disassembled and removed the stripped iron boiler. The whole process was done by 3 or so as estimated."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Troy and Mike installed a replacement fence on two sides of our backyard. They did an excellent job especially considering the cold temps and semi-frozen ground. The fence looks great and we hope to have them back next year to do the third side! Thanks for the great work guys!"

"We now walk out of our basement french doors onto a beautiful bricked patio. Tom and his worker did a phenomenal job! They were very hard-working, professional, efficient and definitely very detail oriented and work was completed timely. They also kept us updated on the installation. They are very knowledgeable and pointed out pros and cons which other contractors did not do. At the same time they were respectful and pleasant, letting us make up our own minds. Because of experience in related fields, they were able to share knowledge we probably would not have otherwise received.
First they completed measurements to ensure the grading was correct so everything in the end would be level. Yes, the bricks are extremely level and graded so the water runs away from the house. This involved laying down the foundation. Attention to detail was displayed when Tom and his worker arranged the different colored pavers into an attractive pattern and laid the pavers for a tight fit. They also took the extra time to ensure the pavers were cut in such a way there was both a tight fit and attractive look when installing around the piers. Not only does Tom do phenomenal work but his worker does too! They went above and beyond when Tom rerouted our existing irrigation for the sprinkler system to accommodate the pavers. Excellent job on clean-up too.
They are definitely concerned about and use quality material and used superior weed cloth barrier, extra long spikes, edging and such materials. Their bid was competitive and we felt fortunate to have had such a qualified company do our job. They also guarantee their work for 5 years and only one other contractor we found had this same guarantee. Most do 1 year based on companies we researched.
They go above and beyond what is required. I forgot to move some hosta plants and when I came home I received a pleasant surprise in that the plants were dug out for me and put aside by his worker.
We definitely plan to use this company again and highly recommend their work."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

When you need new windows depends on a variety of factors, including the age of your windows, the age of your home, and the climate you live in. If you’re dealing with budget constraints, you don’t need to replace all your windows simultaneously.

When buying new windows, you should consider energy efficiency, safety, and aesthetics to choose the right window for you.

Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.

They meet local code demands for escape routes, lighten basements, and aid in reducing overall humidity.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.

You install a window well 8 to 12 inches deeper than the base of the window sill. After filling the well with drainage rock, the well should sit 3 inches below the bottom of the window. The top of the window well should also be at least 3 inches higher than the surface-grade ground. The window well should be about 6 inches wider than the window opening.
