"Our new door was ordered on 6/3/2021and installed on 9/15/2021. Shortly thereafter a cosmetic dent was noticed in one of the panels. A new panel was ordered and the damaged one was replaced. On observation, the new panel was damaged also. Again, the panel was ordered and, after a time, replaced. More recently, we noticed that there is a dent on one of the panels but this one is on the interior facing side of the panel. This went unnoticed until now. The previous two cosmetic defects were to the exterior facing panels. The currently damaged panel defect is on the inside facing surface and went unnoticed until now. Most likely because we were accustomed to looking for cosmetic issues on the exterior of the panels. Although it took us a while to discover this new defect, once seen, it is impossible for us to unsee it. Unfortunately for us, Twin City Garage Door Co. refuses to cover the replacement of the panel under their warranty. We will NOT use this company for our next garage door purchase or service. One garage door purchased with three panel replacements, due to handling issues, seems excessive."

Yes, a water leak poses a major fire risk at your home because water is a conductor of electricity. Water that comes into contact with sparks or electrical wires can instantly ignite flammable materials. Additionally, any type of exposure to water can cause wires and other electrical components within your home to corrode. When assessing categories of water damage, it's important to know that even a small amount of moisture near wiring could cause sparks that lead to a fire.

In theory, a standard breaker can trip around 50 times before it needs replacing if overloading is the cause of your breaker tripping. In practice, you may find that number is much lower, however. If a high current fault causes your breaker to trip, you may only be able to reset the breaker two times before replacing it.

In most cases, line wires are located at the bottom of a panel or device, while load wires are located at the top. Line wires are generally black, while load wires are typically red or black. To tell for sure, you can use a multimeter or volt pen to test the wire. A live or line wire will always carry a charge, while a load wire will only carry a charge when it’s in use.

How far you can run underground electric depends on the wire gauge (generally AWG) and the circuit voltage. Too much voltage drop in an electrical circuit can negatively affect performance, so the smaller the voltage drop, the better. Ideally, it shouldn't exceed 3%. The smaller the wire and the longer the run, the more significant the voltage drop. 

For example, with a 120-volt circuit, you can run 60 feet of 12 AWG cable without losing more than 3% voltage. With a 240-volt circuit, you can run 120 feet of 12 AWG wire while maintaining a voltage drop of 3% or less.

You can reset a breaker several times, but it’s bad for the breaker. Resetting the breaker too many times in a short period can make it overheat and cause damage. That’s in addition to the damage that the multiple overloads do to the circuit. If a breaker is tripping every few minutes, it’s far better to leave it off and call an electrician for an inspection. This also decreases the chances that a short circuit or other issue could cause an electrical fire.
