"That was the worse service we ever got in years. The quality of partially done work is absolutely awful (anyone can come and see for yourself). The garage floor ended up bumpy (uneven), rough (like course sand paper) and blemished. The job was quite quite messy all around including screwing up our driveway with painting material. There was a promise to redo (fix) all that work, cleaning up the driveway..., but State Performance Inc. just disappeared (stopped to respond). Be aware!"

Tiling over your existing backsplash is possible with the right materials and preparation. To do this, the existing backsplash must be clean and free of damage. If you’re installing the new tiles with thinset mortar, the thinset will fill in the existing grout lines as you go, so there won’t be any low spots. Your floors should be completely level for tile, otherwise you risk damaging the tiles in the future. When there are even small gaps or hills in the subfloor beneath the tile, this puts more pressure on the tile when you walk around on the floor. With repeated traffic, the tiles are at risk of cracking, and you’ll have to deal with tile repairs sooner than if the floor was completely level.

Add a T-shaped spacer to each corner of a tile when placing it. You’ll want to nudge the tiles closer together so the spacers are touching each corner. When you’re done installing your tile, you can remove each spacer, wash them, and use them for your next project.

There are a few different tools you can use to score tiles. Manual tile cutters or tile scribes work well for scoring in straight lines. Tile nippers are one of the best options for scoring because they can make small and irregular cuts that larger tools may not be able to handle.

The number of shower niches you need (or want) depends on the size of the shower and how many bathroom products you plan on storing. If you keep it simple with just soap and shampoo, the one shower niche will probably do the trick. But if you’re adding scrubs and soaks, you may need to think about installing two or more.
