It went very well. The installation was very professionally done with no mistakes. The work was completed in a timely manner. Good communication keeps me informed of the work schedule. No surprises. This company has done work for me before. I can trust them and know that the work for which I paid will be professionally done as contracted. They were respectful, kept the work area neat, and cleaned up each day. I very much like their products. I would recommend them to others.

Quarve is the kind of contractor that you always hope that you are hiring. They were responsive to any concerns I had and took pride in doing good quality work. They tended to be a little optimistic on their timelines, even taking weather changes into account, but the results were worth a bit of a wait. The crew was experienced and paid attention to details, and everyone involved was easy to work with.

The Quarve Crew drew a lot of admirers. Saturday afternoon, in preparation for their arrival on Monday, the dumpster arrived. The meticulous dumpster driver assured us that Quarve was his contractor of choice. Monday morning the Crew arrived, and our neighbor to the west, on his way to work, stopped to marvel at how effectively they had set up and were pulling off the old roofing. Monday at noon, our neighbor to the north, who writes building codes for the State, came over and asked the Crew if he could photograph their work, as he was updating the State Code on Roofing, and he knew from experience that Quarve work was picture perfect. So Monday afternoon the Crew found itself being photographed. The Crew found that the under-roofing on the back garage (installed by another roofer) was not to code, and affected the under-roof insulation. PQ himself showed up in a few hours and worked out a recovery plan with the Crew. On Thursday, our neighbor from the south came over to talk to the Crew about a roofing problem he had, but they were already gone. Then the dumpster disappeared. All traces of the Crew disappeared; it was as if the roof had been magically replaced. Then Quarve Quality arrived, touched based base with us, did a thorough inspection, and disappeared. Bottom Line: Pat diligently made sure we chose the best shingle for our home, the shingle we chose was a special order and took a few months to get, was installed on schedule, the soft-spoken Crew was easy to work with, they did a beautiful job, we’ve never had a better roof, Quarve ensured all the warranties were properly filed, and then State Farm gave us a discount on our house insurance (due to the hail and wind resistant shingle PQ recommended). Quarve is a One-Stop Shop.

I would recommend staying away from this company. They didn't install the roof correctly and it started leaking within weeks. They would not come find the leak, rather told me to stand outside with a garden hose, water the roof all over, and then run inside to see if I could pinpoint the leak. They gave me the run around for almost two years before I gave up. The owner, Pat Quarve, has a favorite saying, "it's not my problem". He said that when the roof leaked, when the siding corner trim started sliding down on multiple corners, when they broke my front doorbell (which they tried to hide) and stripped insulation off the wires back into the wall so it couldn't be used again, when they beat on the outside wall so hard they knocked ceramic tiles off the inside wall. Everything not done right was 'not his problem'. He sold me on steel roofing because he claimed that I could not get ice damns with a steel roof, and even had that in a brochure that he would mail out, but I got the worst ice damns ever after the steel roof was installed, even to the point of water dripping through the wall and into the window casings. This also was 'not his problem'. I have since found out from a more honest company that the roof was not installed correctly and could not prevent or minimize ice damns. His wife runs the office, and although she was polite, she also would give me the run around when I would call about problems. She delayed me for months when the front gutter needed to be re-hung so the water would drain correctly. The finally I was told the worker came out and did the job on a day in December when there was an ice **** in the gutter going up the roof 3 feet and was 4 inches thick. Oh, there were also Christmas lights strung on the gutter. There was no way that gutter could have been re-hung, but because she said it had been, it was 'not their problem'. You are going to get a world of headaches if you do business with these people.

This was a tough job with many, many unexpected complications that arose during the process because of the way the home was built and previously maintained. Quarve stuck with us throughout the process where most companies would have cut their losses and taken off. I can't say enough wonderful things about Quarve! No they aren't the cheapest option, but they are quite likely the best out there.

We always stand behind our work, we want to do the right thing for our customers, even if it takes five times to find that bugger of a leak. Pleasure to work with the both of you. Julie Quarve"

I was very pleased with the results. Pat Quarve came out and gave me the estimate himself. He really listen to my wishes and concerns before he gave me the bid. Julie kept me up to date on the start date so i wasn't left wondering and was ready for them when they did start. She also promptly dealt with any concerns that came up. Pat visited the job site often and checked in with me each time. The installers were great. They were very professional and i felt very comfortable having them around. They answered all my questions along the way and never made me feel like i was interrupting them. They left my yard neat and tidy each night when they left. I have even had random neighbors stop and tell me how much they appreciated that. . I also appreciate that they are an environmentally conscious company.

We interviewed 9 contractors. Most wasted out time by getting off topic. Several gave us quotes that didn't match our requirements. Pat spent about an hour with us and absolutely nailed it! He got everything we wanted and he got it right. He made an appointment to come back with his bid before he left; no one else did that and most took at least 10 days to get back to us. Pat came back in 3 days. We are very happy with the results.

Overall, I was very impressed with the job.  The crew was respectful and showed up on time.  They explained everything if my family had any questions.  I was happy that when they finished for the day they cleaned up their mess so we did not have to look at it.  The only thing we were not very happy about was the waiting and I did not feel like we got a clear answer why we had to wait so long.  Some staff said it was because of the weather and some said it was because the company was waiting for our roofing supplies to be delivered.
Response from Quarve Contracting, Inc.
"Thank you for your business and your review. We did have a brutal start to January with cold temps, hence the wait but we did get started in Mid January and finished in about 7 days. We are glad you are happy with your completed project. Julie Quarve"

Our house, built in the 70's, was accumulating a number of things that needed doing.  We'd tried a few contractors, here and there, to address pressing issues, but were never able to deal with the backlog, because the contractors we tried, even though some were top-rated, had very narrow capabilities, weren't good at small jobs, and didn't seem very good at dealing with "surprises".
The first visit, for an estimate, suggested a very broad capability, coupled with high quality standards, and exceptional cost effectiveness.  So we gave Quarve a try.  As they finishing the work needed, their breadth, quality, and cost effectiveness became even more evident, and we doubled their original work scope.
Now our backlog of several decades is gone, the work was well done, and the cost was surprisingly reasonable.  There were plenty of unforeseeable surprises in the process, as they dug into hidden areas of the structure that was last seen over 40 years ago, but each time, we had a "this is the situation, and these are the options" discussion, and each situation was well dealt with.
And not only are they good at relatively good-sized projects, but in the process of working with them on this one, it has become clear they're also very responsive, when the "little things" come up, which will help us keep our backlog down, in the future.

It started out with the estimator calling to say he was going to be 1/2 hr. late for our appointment. After receiving the estimate a few days later as per agreement their bid was 1/2 again what the next viable bid was. They may be excellent but I will never know because I refuse to pay 1/2 as much again to find out. By the way the 33.5k figure above was their bid the next bid was 23.4k. for the same work.
Response from Quarve Contracting, Inc.
"Thank your for your review. Our estimator did give you a estimated price during your initial meeting, which was inline with the final estimate. Without being able to compare the bids, we don't know if the other estimates were apples to apples. We are not the cheapest contractor in town, nor are we the most expensive. We have been in business since 1983 with a staffed office, employee crews and 3 million in liability insurance. There is overhead in having a established business, we don't run ours out of a truck. We wish you luck with your project. Thanks, Julie Quarve"

In the fall of 2013, our insurance company and we discovered damage to our roof, aluminum fascia, and gutters, due to age, wind, and hail.  After researching both asphalt and metal roof options, we contacted several companies to provide estimates for replacement.
We contracted with Pat Quarve and his business, because he impressed us with his knowledge, expertise, experience, and integrity.  He wisely and thoroughly answered each of our questions and addressed all of our concerns, throughout our decision-making process.  He considered our entire house as an integrated system, when planning our roof installation.  He recommended the evaluation of several options to address insulation issues leading to our annual ice dam issues occurring in our our 1938 1.5-story home.
We selected steel shingles for a number of reasons: to obtain the product lifetime warranty, wind and hail resistance, energy efficiency keeping our home cooler in the summer by reflecting away heat, and to eliminate ice dam occurrences.  We also appreciate the related environmental conservation benefits, including the use of recycled materials and the production of less waste.  Steel roofs are not inexpensive, but Quarve's estimate was fair, compared to other quotes we received.  The final cost of the steel roof was approximately twice the cost of an asphalt roof, but is warrantied for as long as we own the home and transferrable for up to 40 years.
Quarve's crew is skilled, dedicated, and has a strong work ethic.  They were always reliable, considerate, prompt, and tidy, which we appreciated greatly.  The team installed our house roof during January and February of 2014.  This was a bitterly cold season, with an incredible accumulation of snow.  The crew endured the uncooperative weather and completed the job carefully and on time.  They worked in sections to tear off and replace shingles, ensuring that the roof was always covered and protected, which prevented water issues.  Pat's team returned in the spring to complete the aluminum fascia and wrap replacement work on our house.
During the summer of 2014, we tore down and replaced our detached garage.  The Quarve crew came out in September, after the structure was built, to install a coordinating metal roof on the garage.  In addition, during the winter 2015, we decided to have Pat and his team move forward with a number of his recommendations to address additional insulation issues.  In the process, they helped us to resolve related, but unexpected, ventilation problems in our vintage home.  They capped the roof-supporting walls with spray foam insulation, removed old insulation and added spray foam insulation to our top attic area, used house wrap and spray foam in all the knee wall areas and places that have opening to our living space (electrical and water openings), added insulation in all the attic areas, and modified existing ventilation structures and added higher-quality ones in the attic areas.
Our family would highly recommend Quarve Metal Roofing and Siding.  This company is consistently committed to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.  Pat and Julie, the administrator of the business, are very responsive, respectful, and easy to work with.  We are very satisfied with the home improvements and service we received, and are also grateful for the increased longevity and property value that they provided.

The person giving the quote was punctual. After reviewing the situation, he gave suggestions with material information that allowed us to make an informed decision.

We were informed of a situation that might delay the start time. (man out on medical leave).  We were given an approximate start date, a promise that they would contact us every two weeks to keep us up to date, and they would try to get us in as early as possible.  They kept every promise and were able to get us in earlier, when they had a cancellation.

The installer double checked the installation instructions with us so, we were able to change our minds about where we had one down spout installed.  He suggested how to point it to get the maximum amount of water away from the house.  The installation went smoothly and the grounds were cleaned up satisfactorily.

They have met my expectations of how a business should operate and how customers should be treated.

Kudos

We received quotes from several contractors for siding (including James Hardie and vinyl) and decided to go with Quarve. We liked the maintenance free aspect and longer durability of seamless steel siding, that there were color options so that painting is not needed, the great energy efficiency and the warranty. The Quarve team was thorough from start to finish, with Pat the owner coming out to provide the estimate and the final agreement. We also liked that he didn't give a hard sell, demonstrated integrity, and was willing to work within our budget, including offering financing and suggesting work we could do ourselves. While the project started later than we had hoped (due to the lovely MN weather and their other jobs) the crew were employees (not subcontractors), professional, and cleaned up well. There was an install error for the exterior window wrap, and their lead proactively addressed with us, delivering a result that was even better than what we had agreed upon. After the project, they followed up with a thank you and customer feedback survey. The only advice I would give is to confirm the final finish in the interior for replacement windows. We've had windows installed previously, so assumed the trim between the window and frame would be finished to match, and it was an additional cost. Pat did discuss when he provided the quote, but we misunderstood. Not a big deal in our case since we can easily paint white. Quarve also accepts credit cards, billed in 3 installments, which is a nice bonus for earning frequent flyer miles or points. We love the result and would definitely recommend and use Quarve again!

As a result of storm damage, we need roofing and siding.  Out of multiple contractor estimates, Pat Quarve was most knowledgeable and professional.  He made every effort to point out pros and cons of all potential choices of replacement processes and materials.  Pat personally determined work to be done and was continually following up with his crews as work was in progress.  Crews were very professional, competent, and willing to go beyond just the tasks at hand.

We had an excellent experience wtih Quarve.  Julie was always checking in with me to see how it was going and to always let me know who and when someone would be coming out and what they would be doing.  Our windows were leaking because we did not have a drip tray above the windows and they explained exactly what needed to be done to fix it. Pat gave me differnet options for shingles and prices and the different types of quality so I could make an education decision about what we wanted. He recommended leaf guards on our roof so I would not be up on the roof cleaning them out. This was the most thorough company I have ever worked with and the most professional.  Would recommend them to anyone who wants the job done right.

I purchased a house that was a foreclosure previously and knew I had a fair amount of work to do. I had called Quarve out for an estimate already when my insurance company threatened to drop me if I didn't get the roof work completed within a few weeks. Quarve squeezed me in to their schedule and finished up to my satisfaction and the satisfaction of my insurer. They were quick and reasonably priced based on other estimates that I had. Pat explained everything clearly and listened to my concerns. The company stayed in close communication and workers kept the job site clean.

Pat from Quarve Contracting came out and inspected our hail damaged roof and talked with me about the sort of replacement roof I was looking for and other upgrades to the roofing that I was thinking about.  Pat then met with my wife, Marlene and me to explain the proposed work by Quarve.  We were impressed by the thoroughness of his presentation of the proposed work and products they planned to use.
We accepted the contract from Quarve and work started on January 2, 2013.  The roofing started after snow was removed from the damaged roof and was finished in about a week.  The soffit work started about a week later and was finished on the 19th.  Julie at Quarve kept us informed of the work status and payments needed.  We were impressed by the professionalism of the workers and the good execution of the project.  We are pleased with the look of the roof and also the soffits.  Several neighbors have commented on the attractiveness of the roof. We have received all warranty and lien waiver documents and consider the project finished.  We were very happy with the work done and the helpful way Quarve Contracting interacted with us.  We would definitely have work done by  them again.
