MONOVA Homes Rating: Solid Five Stars Short Version: Reasonably priced—best of three estimates—and properly licensed, bonded and insured / Work on my three-bathroom remodel began quickly after my contract was signed (September 28, 2018) / The foreman and crew worked quickly, politely, professionally, and intelligently on my job / Three bathrooms were finished on time (October 23, 2018) and on budget ($13,800 labor and materials) / the final result was nothing less than stunning / I would hire MONOVA Homes again, and I would enthusiastically recommend them to a friend or family member—or anyone reading this review. Please see before and after pictures. Long Version: Due to a family medical issue, I had a somewhat tight 3 month window to get three 1960s-era bathrooms, with all original fixtures (except the toilets which were replaced two years ago), upgraded and made handicap accessible. I had never had a remodel—clearly—until now. I used the Home Advisor web site, and I got 3 estimates. MONOVA Homes (MH) was the most reasonable. I went on-line (as you are doing now) and found MH had high ratings across several different ratings platforms. I saw they were local to my house (Fairfax, Virginia). Mir Aziz, the Project Manager, was helpful in thinking through my design ideas—in fact, the walk-in tub I ended up buying was his suggestion. Once work began, I was able to be home most, but not all, the time. I judge workers by this standard: Do they work as well and hard as I would if I were able to do the job myself. The foreman for my job, Ayala “Rocky” Roque, and his crew met that standard and then some! They worked efficiently, politely, and passionately, and to be honest, longer each day than I could have imagined. While I was rarely without water or at least one working bathroom during the entire project, the quick work meant I had access to my shower again in about 12 days. From start to finish, the job only took 25 days and was well within my 3-month window. The final project looks stunning and works flawlessly. Even after the final walk-through, when I could carefully scrutinize every detail, I could find no fault. I am going to attach some low resolution before and after photos of my MONOVA Homes remodel. I hope you can appreciate the transformation. Highly Recommended!!

Monova was quick in removing my old tub, tiles and flooring and replacing them with a shower, tile surround and flooring. They also took time to lay protection on the carpet so debris wouldn't be tracked in and removed the old stuff. I am happy every day with my bathroom. All the workers were great! I would use them again.

Our bathroom is fantastic! The workmen were phenomenal - on time, polite, cleaned up after themselves, and knew their craft and did it well. Would recommend this company to anyone looking for a home improvement company.

Monova was wonderful. So easy to work with, respectful of our home, punctual, quality work, great communication throughout. They measure and tell you what you need, and you buy the materials (they recommend local and on-line vendors and help you get discounts wherever possible). Would definitely recommend. I'll be using them for my kitchen sometime this year or next.

We had some water and mold damage for our two bathrooms in the townhouse due to a toilet leak. After insurance took care of the remediation and demo, I hired Monova to come in and put in tiles, drywall, toilets, vaniety and sinks. It was a great experience - the quality of work was high, the crew was professional and cleaned up well, and the price was very reasonable. An A+ experience from beginning to end, I would recommend Jay and his company very highly!

Mir was excellent to deal with. Very responsive. A few times workers failed to show up and there seemed to be a communication issue with the foreman and crew. Work quality was excellent.

I can't recommend Jay and the Monova team highly enough. They were able to start work ahead of schedule, finished on time and on budget, and made all the modifications we requested to the original plan with grace. They secured all necessary permits as well, and without a single delay to the work. They delivered an outstanding basement renovation to a quirky 1940s house at a cost lower than other bids - we could not be happier. Highly recommend!

The Monova team was professional and did the work on time. We remodeled one of the bathrooms in our house. We had found too many unprofessional companies in the area lately and did not know what to expect. Luckily for us, we chose Monova. They did everything they said they would do on the time frame they had anticipated. Whenever some unexpected issues came up, they were quite reasonable and flexible dealing with them. We were very satisfied with them overall and would definitely hire them again the future.

Work was done in a timely manner and price was very reasonable. Excellent customer service.

We couldn't be happier with Monova and the work that they did. We hired them to fully gut two standard bathrooms in our townhome. Mir was extremely responsive and straightforward. I'm not easy to please - we had at least four other quotes before we went with Monova. Mir explained every step of the process and patiently answered my questions. They give you a quote for labor and raw materials and a rough estimate for what everything else should cost. We ended up spending about twice as much as the estimate for "everything else" and that's really my only complaint. We didn't choose overly expensive items, yet we did end up exceeding our budget based on that initial estimate. They work with some local retailers, but you don't have to use them. We used one recommended retailer (contractor discount is pretty good) and bought the rest from the big box stores and online retailers. Rocky (our foreman) and his crew were TOP NOTCH. They showed up when they said they were going to be there and always were polite and courteous. Rocky was a great communicator and really made sure that I was involved when needed and didn't leave anything up to chance or assumptions. His crew worked 12-14 hour days and even worked on weekends to get the job done faster. We had one bathroom completely finished in less than a week! We've had many contractors work in our house over the years and Monova was by far the best. Very professional and excellent workmanship. We've already handed out their card to a few friends and will be calling them again when the time comes to update other parts of the house. GREAT JOB!

BLUF: The remodel was done on schedule, with high quality and within the cost estimate, but please continue to read some of the notes that I took. My project was to have a bathroom remodel that was very complex because of the age of the house. The walls were plaster, faded wiring and legacy plumbing was challenges and the further into the project, the more you get to see. Jay and his team look ahead and were able to communicate some issues that we could run into and had a couple of courses of action for everything. My quality of life was not impacted, no dust or dirt, (remember the plaster?), when they were done for the day, you could not tell they were here. Jay was able to think conceptually and tell the vision of what the final project is going to look like complete. Had a great experience with Monova, I have recommended them to my friends and would select them again.

Jay offered not only good labor but also consulting and guidance regarding materials. He followed up frequently. He also dispatched his worker back to fix a couple of minor issues that raised after the project was done. My neighbor wanted to hire him as soon as he saw my new bathroom.

This company is the best value for the dollar. They are very professional and have excellent tradesmen. They were on time and brought the project in on time. They turned my dungeon of a basement into a well lit usable living and working space with ample storage.

We just had our bathroom remodeled by Monova Contractors. It was a total gut job and Jay kept us informed at every step of the way. Any problems they found were quickly resolved to our satisfaction. Edgar and Oscar did an amazing job and asked me questions along the way to make sure the result was exactly like I wanted it. I will be hiring them again for future projects.

We hired Monova to do a complete remodel of the master bathroom, including a new vanity, sink, medicine cabinet, toilet and shower. Mir came out to give us the estimate, and then Rocky came to measure and tell us what to buy for the job. Monova gave us suggestions as to where to purchase materials and fixtures, but we were free to use any retailer we wanted. Demolition was prompt and clean. Plastic film was taped into place to keep the bedroom and closet free of dust. Luis expertly tiled the shower stall floor and walls, and the bathroom floor, then installed the shower door and the toilet. Rocky built up a wall that needed to be enclosed and installed the vanity and sink. Mir came out several times to inspect the work and to make sure that we were happy. The overall job took a couple of days longer than projected, but that seems to be the case for construction. It's better to have a job take longer and be done properly, than to have a rushed, shoddy outcome. Rocky and Luis were helpful in suggesting minor changes to design when necessary. Both were personable, respectful and responsive to our needs. They were trustworthy, and we provided a key for them to use in case we were gone when they needed to get in. They are both highly skilled at their craft. The price of the overall project was extremely reasonable compared to another quote we were given. Keep in mind that the customer chooses and purchases materials and fixtures, and Monova provides labor and basic materials such as plywood, nails, tools and cement. We recommend Monova, and will use them for our future remodeling needs.

All work was completed within the quoted time frame. Rocky and Leo (the workmen) were always professional, cleaned up every day, contained dust and debris and did absolutely beautiful tile work. We are thoroughly happy with our new bathroom.

We had a great experience with Monova Contractors. They responded immediately to our inquiry and Mir came out the next day to discuss the project with us. He was very detail oriented and knowledgeable about the options we could pursue as we discussed ideas for how to renovate the bathroom. We had 4 other contractors come to talk with us and none left us feeling as confident about the project as Mir did. We ended up selecting and ordering all of the fixtures and tile to be installed and Monova contractors did the installation. I felt like this helped us save a significant amount of money. The project involved removal of a wall and closet, replacement of a shower, toilet and dual sink and vanity. Plus installation of a tile floor and two doors. Rocky, the lead contractor, was meticulous in his work and very easy to talk to. Toward the end of the project we had looked everything over and had a short list of things we wanted to make sure were corrected or finished to our satisfaction and Rocky made sure everything was perfect. Overall, Monova Contractors were easy to work with, extremely talented and came in at a price that beat out 4 competitors. We're very happy with our decision to use them and would not hesitate to call them again for future renovations.

Installed full bath with new configuration. Removed tub and added full walk in shower with tile and new plumbing fixtures. Installed the plumbing two new sinks. The 1 to 2 man team did good work. It took about a month to complete work. Part of that time was due to Mosaic Tile giving us the wrong tile which cost them a day. Not having enough spacer wood for between the new cabinets cost them 2 days of lost time. Waiting on the vanity tops cost them 2 days of lost time. The contractor spilled glue on bedroom carpet. Lucky I had some spare carpet in a closet they could cut and fix problem, not a perfect match but, much better than the glue. After the new tile was installed, there was a problem with the new drain for one of the sinks. I had to move everything out of a walk in storage closet below the problem area so that a hole could be cut in the ceiling to allowing access to fix the problem. Problem was fixed and the ceiling patched and painted so that you could not tell that a problem occurred. The good side of this it did allow me to paint the rest of the closet. My biggest concern was the Mir Monava never called or came by to check the completed job. The team I had did good work but, cleanup could have been better.

If you know your design and know what materials you are going to get,they are very good executor and can deliver speedy and great quality and good value for money.
