"I thought it mostly went fine.  However, some of the sprinkler heads were not set appropriately, which meant that the technician had to be brought out multiple times.  Also, the system stopped working this year (2015) after the technician had been out to get it going for the new season.

"first plumber to call back, after hours 530 pm service call. price was a little steep (yes I know after hours is more but still), and very doom and gloom assessment. had another plumber come back and the assessment was nowhere as doom and gloom.

"I have just had my final meeting with Joe Wire, who sold me on using Hoffman Weber. My siding project was finished a couple weeks ago. I had a great experience with this company from beginning to end. They explained everything, answered questions and helped solve every issue. My house was built in 1928 so it needed a new facelift. I chose the James Hardie product for it’s high quality and for the finished look. Joe explained the choices of products but I chose the James Hardie. It is worth every penny to end up with such a maintenance free, great looking house. I also had them do a new seamless membrane flat roof on my three-season porch. Bryan, my project manager, was available all through the project to answer any questions and keep me updated on the project. He was so thorough and stopped by multiple times to check on everything. Boris, my installer, is an artist! He worked 6 days a week with his brother, installing all the siding and trim. Everything is done to perfection. He really does quality work and takes his time making sure everything is perfect. The roofers did my porch roof so I will never have to worry about a leaky roof. They stayed extra late to make sure they got it done before a snow storm hit the following day. I couldn’t be happier with my “new” house. I highly recommend Hoffman and Weber. They are so easy to work with, friendly, knowledgeable, problem solvers and I know they really cared about my project from beginning to end. It was a pleasure to work with Joe, Bryan, Boris and his brother. Thank you for all the expert work. I have already had lots of compliments on my house."

"Jonathan was really great to work with. He was the first provider of these services to call me when I reached out to 4 as well. He is friendly and thorough. He explained everything to us that he was doing, and asked us about different options, but let us know if when he didn't think we needed them. The price is fair and he is good at what he does. We also really liked that he tested the radon levels after the install, and shared the results with us. Highly recommend!"

"Very professional, honest and upfront from the start. We received 3 estimates and this was the best price, most knowledgeable inspector/salesman and the communication was amazing. I was very comfortable from the beginning to the end! The also came very highly recommended by my realtor and home inspector! The driveway and sidewalk were leveled to their original position perfectly. The basement wall I was worried about was anchored and the drain tile and sump pump system were installed with radon mitigation and done in less than 2 days! Everything was cleaned well and the job leader stayed in touch with me to ensure i knew what was going on and was happy with everything. Very highly recommend this company!"

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

There are a few ways to make your storm door less drafty. For example, if the bottom of your storm door is letting in air, you can lower the door sweep so there’s a smaller gap between your door and the floor. You can also install weatherstripping or apply caulk around the door frame.

Outswing doors are more popular for exterior doors as they offer more room for moving items in and out of a home. And because the hinges are on the outside of the door, they’re more secure against potential break-ins. But, outswing doors are more susceptible to the elements and are more expensive. Comparing inswing vs. outswing doors depends on your budget, needs, and overall preference.

Instead of a security door, you might opt for a heavy-duty screen door made from durable mesh, which allows better sunlight and airflow. Additionally, you could enhance security by installing strong locks on your existing door. A double-cylinder deadbolt provides robust security; however, be aware that some local laws prohibit them due to safety concerns during emergencies.

The difference between a right-hand and left-hand storm door is where the handle is located. When looking at the door from the outside of your home, a right-hand storm door will have the handle on the right-hand side, while a left-hand storm door will have the handle on the left. Your storm door handle will be on the same side as your front door handle.

While sometimes used interchangeably, screen doors and storm doors have key differences. Screen doors are simple structures, typically composed of just a frame and a screen, designed to keep out bugs while allowing air circulation. In contrast, storm doors are heavier and more complex, built to protect your home's main entry door from weather and intruders. They usually feature an aluminum frame with interchangeable tempered glass and screen panels, allowing you to switch between ventilation and insulation. A storm door offers more protection and versatility but generally costs more than a basic screen door.
