"As an alternative to buyinig all new kitchen cabinets, we went to Daren and had him "refresh" all the doors and drawer fronts to fill in small chips in the veneer and just gereally clean everything and buff everything out with several coats of tinted wax--and saved over $20K. They turned out great and would strongly recommend considering this if you have old, good quality wood-finish cabinets that you'd like to keep. Plus, he worked overtime before leaving on vacation to make sure we could things put back together before we had the family over for Easter. -JS"

If your wood furniture is sticky after already cleaning it, it’s likely from using too many polishes or waxes. You’ll need to remove some of the excess wax with a cloth and warm water mixed with dish soap. You can then reapply the wax or polish afterwards, but try to use a much smaller amount and wipe away any excess.

It can take as little as 30 to 60 minutes for wood filler to dry, but some products take up to four hours. Always read labels to ensure you're following the manufacturer’s instructions. Water-based wood fillers typically take longer to dry than oil-based or epoxy-wood fillers, especially when applied to large areas or deep cracks. Wood putty won’t dry completely, remaining slightly pliable.

Applying a topcoat sealer is not required, but it will keep the stain from fading over time. This is particularly important if the stain imparts a color or varnish. If you’re staining exterior wood, you should apply a sealant or finish to prevent weather-related issues down the line. Also, stained wood that lacks a seal won’t look as clean and fresh.
