"Before you hire any Water Control company hire a plumber to make sure you really need drain tile. After we hired this company we still had seeping water issues. After they were called twice they finally told us we had a leaking pipe. In addition, an employee stole a cellphone and a FITBIT watch from our home and damaged our egress window. They fixed the egress window. The owner was not very pleasant, made us feel like we were not telling the truth. My husband literally spent hours changing passwords and canceling credit cards since the cellphone contained sensitive information. A few days later through Google find my device we pinned the cellphone at this business location, we called the police and had to take time away from our work to retrieve our phone. We never retreived our FITBIT watch. It was a nightmare! The company apologized but the damage was done!! The job itself was OK.. Apologies are not good enough after the hell we went through!! A vapor barrier keeps moisture out of the crawl space, while insulation reduces the amount of unconditioned air—and sometimes moisture—that enters the space. Coupling a vapor barrier with insulation can help prevent humidity and related moisture damage in a crawl space while also making your home more energy-efficient. Just be sure to use insulation that won’t get damaged from moisture, like rigid foam board or expanding spray foam insulation.

Mold growth is just one common sign of excess moisture in the bathroom. You may also see the paint in the room start to peel away from the walls, or that the walls remain wet for some time after you bathe.

Condensation on the windows is another sign that your bathroom has a potential moisture problem. The room itself may start to smell like mildew.

The only real negative when encapsulating a crawl space is that the cost is high. It can cost several thousands of dollars to do this project. However, it protects your house and those in it by providing an energy-efficient space instead of one that frequently pools moisture and causes damage through mold growth in your home. While less common, another disadvantage could be encapsulation making access to pipes and electrical slightly more complicated in certain crawl spaces.
