"The team from Expert Tree Service did a great job. From the initial visit to inspect the trees and provide a quote to the actual trimming and clean up, everyone involved was highly professional. Because of the location of the trees, they could not use a boom truck so the trimmers, Bennie and Manny, had to climb the trees using ropes from the ground. They were always careful in their work and asked me when they had questions about trimming certain limbs. It was amazing to watch them work 60 feet above the ground. Clean up was excellent. I would definitely use them again."

"Tom fit our small project into his schedule between two other larger jobs. He and his crew started and finished the job the day after it was bid. They were pleasant to work with and went beyond expectations, like shaking out the and quot;goodand quot; soil from old sod so we could use it elsewhere. The work was completed as we had discussed. They were prompt and quick to return phone calls.

"Tom and his crew did an outstanding job in cleaning up and vastly improving our yard. We had a 30’ X 20’ garden area that was completely overgrown with weeds that Steeleman transformed into a beautiful area with stepping stones and native grasses. Tom also installed stone edging around all of our planting beds. Absolutely 100% satisfied! Thanks Tom!"

"I had a very large willow tree that was going over the neighbor's fence and my shed, as well as growing into a power line. In addition, I had some maples that were growing on a slope right next to my house. After a round of estimates, I thought Arbor Barber provided a good value and went with them. They arrived right on time, and were very professional, laying down plywood to protect my lawn and everything. I didn't notice they charge for wood chip removal separately but it is in the estimate so I should have seen it. They did a good job cleaning up and didn't damage a thing even though it was a tricky tree. These guys know would they are doing and I would gladly recommend them to anyone."

"Some extra work was required with my fence, with which they helped at no additional charge. Also took down an extra branch or two from a different tree at my request. They were the first company to respond to my inquiry and were promptly out to provide a quote, which I found to be very fair, and so I hired them without even talking to other companies. Glad I did -- the work was done timely and very well. I would recommend them to family and friends."
Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.

Mulch costs anywhere from $30 to $150 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. On the inexpensive end, red and black mulch are about $35 to $40 per cubic yard, and are typically made from recycled waste wood like shredded old pallets or deck material. Cedar, cypress, and rubber mulch cost anywhere from $100 to $120 per cubic yard. A pro can help you determine the type of mulch most suitable for your landscaping needs.
Yes, you will want to confirm that the tree removal company you hire is insured before proceeding with the job. Tree removal can be dangerous work, and it's important to verify that the company carries the proper insurance to cover any onsite accidents or damage.
