"The team from Expert Tree Service did a great job. From the initial visit to inspect the trees and provide a quote to the actual trimming and clean up, everyone involved was highly professional. Because of the location of the trees, they could not use a boom truck so the trimmers, Bennie and Manny, had to climb the trees using ropes from the ground. They were always careful in their work and asked me when they had questions about trimming certain limbs. It was amazing to watch them work 60 feet above the ground. Clean up was excellent. I would definitely use them again."

"Tom fit our small project into his schedule between two other larger jobs. He and his crew started and finished the job the day after it was bid. They were pleasant to work with and went beyond expectations, like shaking out the and quot;goodand quot; soil from old sod so we could use it elsewhere. The work was completed as we had discussed. They were prompt and quick to return phone calls.

Customers say: Quality work
"I contacted Tom Steele to do my lawn this spring after my previous (very expensive) lawn service ditched all its residential customers and went completely corporate. You never know with lawn services - until you try them. I have to say this for Tom - any time I have an issue or need something else done, he has been exceptionally responsive.
I also have to say this about Tom - my lawn has never looked better. When he started, I only had quack grass in my front lawn. He aerated and seeded and somehow brought magic to the yard. I've been in this house for 13 years and this is honestly the first time I've had a decent looking front lawn.
I do not use chemicals. Due to so many ponds and lakes around me, as well as my own personal philosophy, I insist on organic products only. So, as I said, I think Tom used magic.
We still have work to do on the back yard. There are many oak trees here which makes the soil very acidic. It was Tom who explained that and he is working on it.
Tom's service worked here since spring and still is. There was no way to explain that under "Approximate date of service". Also no way to say $35 per mow; other services extra. Still, the cost was within the range of what is a normal charge in this area.
I've been very pleased with him.

"They were the first company to return my call. Vitaliy, the man who did all the climbing, came to look at the trees himself and give an estimate. When I called, they came the next day! The 6 men did absolutely fantastic work! They were not able to bring in their machinery because of our narrow fence gates so all the work was done by climbing, ropes, saws and ground support. They were very careful and did a thorough cleanup. Another plus was that they hauled away all the debris in a huge truck instead of chipping it out in the street. My husband and I were very happy with the work they did plus it was entertaining. :-)"

"Some extra work was required with my fence, with which they helped at no additional charge. Also took down an extra branch or two from a different tree at my request. They were the first company to respond to my inquiry and were promptly out to provide a quote, which I found to be very fair, and so I hired them without even talking to other companies. Glad I did -- the work was done timely and very well. I would recommend them to family and friends."
Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.

Mulch costs anywhere from $30 to $150 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. On the inexpensive end, red and black mulch are about $35 to $40 per cubic yard, and are typically made from recycled waste wood like shredded old pallets or deck material. Cedar, cypress, and rubber mulch cost anywhere from $100 to $120 per cubic yard. A pro can help you determine the type of mulch most suitable for your landscaping needs.
Yes, you will want to confirm that the tree removal company you hire is insured before proceeding with the job. Tree removal can be dangerous work, and it's important to verify that the company carries the proper insurance to cover any onsite accidents or damage.
