"It went great. Actually I thought my chimney was leaking, but the technician did a little more checking and noticed a slow leak from my hot water heater. I was very happy with the work he did. He gave me lots of information, answered a my questions and left the work area nice and clean."

"If you have a fireplace in your home, do yourself a favor and call Blue Sky Chimney Sweeps! During an inspection and cleaning, they found evidence of fire damage and helped walk us through the insurance claim process. We were able to have our flue liner replaced and exterior chimney rebuilt with little more out of pocket than our insurance deductible. The technician who inspected our fireplace was professional and willing to answer all our questions. The owner of Blue Sky was great to work with and handled all of the insurance claim requirements. The crew that completed the work was outstanding. Our fireplace now looks and performs like new. I simply canâ t say enough about how pleased we are with Blue Sky Chimney Sweeps!"

Chimney Sweep questions, answered by experts

Just about anything that can damage your roof can damage a solar panel. It’s common for panels to sustain damage from hail or falling branches. Critters can chew through the wires. Snow and heavy rainfall can cause additional wear, along with extreme temperatures, which can degrade or stress the individual components. Even the UV rays that create electricity slowly damage your panel over time.

You may need to replace drywall because of smoke damage. If the drywall is covered in soot, you may be able to clean it, but it will require a lot of time and effort. You could spend hours cleaning the drywall only to find there is more damage and it needs to be replaced anyway. It’s usually easier and safer to remove the smoke-damaged drywall and replace it.

Depending on who’s doing the estimating, about 22,000 to 25,000 chimney fires happen each year in the United States. Given the fact that millions of Americans have fireplaces (and chimneys), that means chimney fires aren’t exactly common—but they’re not rare, either. Since they’re so dangerous, it’s important to take precautions to prevent them.

To get rid of the smoke smell in a microwave, scrape off any burnt food residue and throw it away. Next, warm a cup of water in a microwave-safe container for three minutes. Then, dip a microfiber cloth into a mixture of water and a couple of drops of dish soap and wipe down the inside of the microwave. Dry the inside of the microwave with a fresh cloth and let everything air out for three hours.

Regular HVAC filter changes, deep cleaning, and air quality monitoring help maintain a healthy environment.
