"This is the third time that I've used this company to adjust my almost 70-year old driveway. Each time the response to the initial call has been timely. They raised the sunken part of the driveway and angled it for rainwater flow. The crew were friendly, explained what was to be done before they started and, when done, showed me what had been done and allowed for any comments. Good clean-up too."

"This job was completed efficiently and professionally. A design specialist came to test and measure every detail for the project. The crew arrived with everything needed for the job. They worked very hard to install Waterguard in the concrete floors inside around the foundation to the sump pump basket. They also installed Geo-lock anchors to support a block wall that was bowed. This company has 36 years in business and provides excellent results and professional customer relations. Call Amer. Wtrwrks for a free estimate. You will not be disappointed. A wise investment of $11,270."

"It went great. Wonderful communication on date and time they could accommodate us. The job was done top notch, the sidewalk and steps are great and it’s a pleasure to drive into the garage without having an issue with the sunken apron. I did have one question which was the holes they drilled to raise the areas are quite dark and I was it sure if they would “cure” to a lighter color or not. Greg was quick to respond to my question with a “usually they do”. They also caulked the gaps."

"May-4-2021 Our driveway was installed in September 2020. We noticed significant chipping in February 2021 on the driveway and dark spots on part of the stoop. Norsk Concrete Construction is blaming the damage on their concrete provider and the concrete provider is blaming it on salt. We did not use salt on our driveway and barely left our house during the winter because of Covid. At this point, the concrete vendor is willing to replace some but not all of the chipped areas - this would result in the middle of our driveway being replaced; they are not addressing the spotting on the stoop. I paid for a new driveway that would be competently installed with quality products. A poor explanation for the driveway’s failure and a patchwork job as a resolution is not a successful remedy. Norsk will say they are a company that stands behind their work but they do not stand behind their final product. I will update this post as I continue to work with Norsk. I am hopeful that they will prove to be a reputable company, but at this time I cannot endorse them as such. Update May-5-2021 I contacted Norsk's concrete provider who will do tests to determine the specific problem. Norsk did contact me and all parties have agreed to testing. Update May-6-2021 Aggregate, the concrete provider, came and looked at our driveway. They do not think the chipping was caused by salt. They thought perhaps the stain on the stoop was caused by something spilling into the concrete when it was poured. They also thought that Norsk waited too long to make the cuts in the slab. They aren't sure what caused the chipping but they mentioned a couple of possibilities, one being water was added when finishing or two the section was over finished causing water to rise to the surface. They said the entire pour needed to be replaced. I have posted picture of their work to google reviews"

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Concrete houses cost 10% to 20% more to build than stick-built homes, and maintenance on home systems is more invasive and expensive due to pipes and wires being buried in concrete. Concrete homes can also look more industrial and less comfortable if you don’t cover the concrete with finishing materials. It’s also more challenging to make changes to concrete, so reframing doors and windows or building home additions will cost more. Concrete needs time to cure, too, so the timeline to build a house out of concrete is a bit longer.

Yes, including sustainable mixes and reflective surfaces to reduce heat absorption.

Yes, you can put too much rebar in concrete. Too much reinforcement can cause strain in the concrete, leading to cracking. Air pockets can also form in the gaps between rebar when concrete fails to fill the space properly. The placement and installation of rebar is a specialized skill, so consult an experienced pro before proceeding.

You should water new concrete by spraying it five to 10 times per day for the first seven days. This process of moist curing allows the concrete to become as strong as possible to prevent cracks and weak concrete. Moist-cured concrete is 50% stronger than concrete that was not sprayed with water during the first week. The only exception is if you pour concrete in the winter. Then, spraying with water is not recommended.

Asphalt is not a type of concrete. While both are a common type of pavement, asphalt is composed of aggregates (like sand and gravel) and bitumen; concrete is a mixture of cement, aggregates, and water. Here are some of the key differences between asphalt and concrete driveways.
