"We were very impressed with Mike and his team. They were prompt, communicative and professional. We had not had our ducts cleaned for a considerable time and it showed! Integrity took before and after pictures to show their work and they did a phenomenal job. They also gave us pointers for things to watch for. We will definitely be using them again in the future and make this a part of our regular annual routine."

"Taylor and Marcus came out to came out to do the install. They came in smiling and introduced themselves. They gave us three options with no high pressure sales. They were friendly and happy and very knowledgeable. As they worked they kept us up to date on what they were as they progressed. I have never been more impressed with a company and their employees. Then Erin came out to perform a furnace tune up. Just as happy and knowledgeable. He was another great representative for their company. I would use them again in a New York minute. Or Minneapolis minute. Thank you guys."

"We met serviceman Alex L. from DJ's today. He worked as long as it was necessary to diagnose and fix issues with our furnace humidifier. It needed several adjustments. He worked very diligently and the price was reasonable (especially by today's standards for pricing). We would definitely hire DJs again for other HVAC and plumbing work. We also appreciated the company's thoroughness in providing reminder calls and other contact on the day of service to ensure we met Alex at our home at the right time. This shows an emphasis on customer service that we appreciate. Both Charlotte and Karen were very helpful to us on the phone today as well."

"I hired Monti Plumbing to do the plumbing and HVAC work in our basement that was being finished and I was acting as the general contractor (my first time doing so). There was some miscommunication between myself and MP that caused a bit of a snafu in the bathroom with the vanity. I had called them in to do the finish plumbing before the flooring was down (I know, dumb mistake by me) and the worker put the vanity in and finished the plumbing instead of saying that's not the normal process. Regardless, it did end up creating an issue because we didn't communicate very well with each other on that issue and the flooring had to be redone a couple times, but.... in the end Mike Mossey was very generous and helped us remedy the situation even though (something else I didn't know) plumbers don't generally set the vanity. All the work MP did was excellent, great value for the price, and I would definitely hire them again!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

You should plan to change your AC unit's filter every one to three months, depending on the manufacturer's recommendations. You should also clean the coils at least once per year, but if you have pets or someone in your household has allergies, you might need to clean them more often. Fortunately, many pros will clean the coils and change the filter for you during an inspection, which you should schedule once or twice per year.

HVAC pros recommend that you replace your AC filter every one to three months to maintain optimal indoor air quality and ensure your HVAC system operates efficiently. However, factors such as filter type, household size, and environmental conditions may influence the frequency of replacement. Regular filter changes help prevent debris buildup, maintain airflow, and prolong the life span of your air conditioning unit.

While it's generally safe to stay in a home with a coolant leak if your home is properly ventilated, it's important to have a professional come out to assess the situation right away. You should evacuate your home if you notice any powerful fumes. Additionally, you should leave your home if you are experiencing headaches or dizziness.

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, or ASHRAE, sets the standard guidelines for air changes per hour in homes and businesses. The International Residential Code, or IRC, also sets ACH requirements for residences and bases those requirements off of ASHRAE standards plus climate specifics related to your location.

Not if you have a standard unit. Because portable AC units actually work to dehumidify the room, you’ll likely need to drain the unit from time to time—but you won’t have to put water into it. There is, however, another type of air conditioner called a swamp cooler that requires water to operate. If you have a swamp cooler, you may need to fill a reservoir with water and potentially ice. But a swamp cooler is different from a standard portable AC unit.
