"James was wonderful - he walked me through everything and even offered to check a few things that he didn't really need to but saw that it would give me peace of mind. I appreciated the thoughtfulness and thoroughness! We've had others out to give repair estimates and we've decided to go with Jack Pixley Sweeps. We will be having some sealing work done on our chimney and an installation of a gas and electric fireplace insert - will update the review as needed once the repair work has been completed."

CHIMNEY INSPECTIONS LEVEL 1 AND LEVEL 2\nWE DO NOT SERVICE GAS FIREPLACES\n\nChimney Rebuilds\nWhen deterioration of the chimney reaches the point of no return, the solution is a tear-down and rebuild. A partial chimney rebuild can be done in cases where a portion of the structure is salvageable. All rebuilds include installation of a new concrete chimney crown.\n\nChimney Liners\nChimney liners provide an extra layer of protection between the chimney wall and your home. This additional protection is critical, as defects commonly appear in the chimney wall, beginning a process that gradually erodes the chimney. As the chimney wall gives way to deterioration, the potential arises for the infiltration of smoke and gases into your home, as well as damage

Customers say: True professional

"Prompt response when I requested an estimate for chimney repair. We had the complete list of recommended repairs based on inspection, along with pictures and estimate that same evening. Our neighbor paid more to have similar repairs a few years ago, so that tells us it was a good value. Crew started work on the project a couple days after we approved the project. Very polite, friendly and hard working crew. We are extremely satisfied with the quality workmanship and we feel confident our chimney will safe for use for many years to come."

"Nick showed me his certification and removed his shoes before coming into my home. He took pictures of my chimney crown so I could see the cracks which will require repair on a future visit. He did an exceptional job of cleaning and inspecting my chimney and provided a great deal of useful advice. I highly recommend Nick."

"Gael did an awesome job. If we ever need anything done to our chimneys ever again we would hire them. They totally redid one of our chimneys including the upper concrete on top of the chimney. They arrived on time, were very courteous, cleaned up after doing the work and were totally THE BEST!!! Thank you!!"

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can disassemble most furniture with the proper tools and experience. Beds, tables, bookshelves, and chairs are all items that can be disassembled. Be sure to keep track of parts like screws and hardware by labeling them with the disassembled items. Avoid disassembling delicate or antique items in case they become too damaged to reassemble.

Yes, you can repair cat scratches on leather furniture. A quick fix that won’t repair roughness is a leather recoloring balm that helps scratches blend in. Otherwise, use the following process.

  1. Clean the area and trim loose fibers.

  2. Rub leather binding glue all over the affected area.

  3. Sand the area down with fine-grit sandpaper and clean off any residue.

  4. Fill holes, scratches, and gouges with leather putty from a leather repair kit.

  5. Sand the area down again and clean off any residue.

  6. Apply leather colorant in several layers.

  7. Seal the color in with a leather sealant and finish.

There are many tips and tricks you can try to make your dresser drawers stop sticking and slide easier. You can rub a small amount of beeswax on the drawer slides or apply paraffin wax in the same manner. If you need to unstick wooden dresser drawers, consider using silicone, graphite, or Teflon-based lubricants for best results.

High humidity and moisture are the main causes of wood furniture damage, which cause it to warp or crack. You’ll always want to quickly clean and dry any spilled liquids on wood. Make sure you’re storing your furniture in dry places unless it’s been weather treated—that means your outdoor patio may not be the best spot for your antique side table.

Yes, vinegar can break down the adhesive bond, effectively dissolving the glue from wood. It will be much easier to wipe away. Vinegar’s acidity, which helps to make it an effective all-purpose cleaner, can also aid in removing adhesive with less chance of damaging the wood and finish than more aggressive solvents.
