"There were some problems not related to quality of work. I told him what days i was not available. they chose one of those days and nobody informed me when they were coming. I had to call them to find out. they brought the wrong countertops. I told them but I agreed to keep them because i had chosen them first and then had changed them. I agreed to keep them but they owed me a small refund which took a while to com my way."

"Paramount Granite Company was a joy to work with! They offered an incredibly reasonable and detailed estimate (including options and their costs) within a day. When I visited their offices, I was treated with respect and courtesy. Barb answered my questions and showed me their slabs of granite (as well as the sinks and faucets they offer). I had already viewed slabs of granite at the various warehouses, but they had some beautiful pieces to choose from. I ended up picking a gorgeous piece of St. Cecelia granite from their selection, which just happened to be in the least expensive category.
The whole process was made easy by Angie's prompt and helpful responses to my emails. Paramount was flexible with my schedule when we needed to postpone the installation by a week. On the day of installation, the workers arrived on time and worked quickly and excellently. I was impressed when they discovered (from a spec sheet they brought along) that the particular slide-in range we had chosen needed rounded corners for the opening. The worker finished the job except for this part, drove back to the office and returned within the hour with the rounded piece to complete the job perfectly!
Paramount Granite Company is a first-rate company. I would highly recommend them to any of my friends. I am simply thrilled with my countertops and the excellent experience I had with Paramount.

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Terrazzo is incredibly durable and resistant. It often lasts well over 75 years, as long as you take proper care of it.

Yes, it is possible to cover old countertops with new ones. Using a countertop overlay to cover your existing countertop is a good way to get a totally new surface without removing your old countertops. This method can be more cost-effective and less time-consuming than a total replacement.

No, in most cases, you do not have to remove your countertops to reface cabinets. Since refacing primarily involves updating the doors, drawer fronts, and exterior surfaces, your existing countertops can usually stay right where they are, making the process quicker and less disruptive. However, if your counters prevent the access needed to remove doors and drawers, they may need to be temporarily removed. It's best to consult with a professional cabinet contractor to assess your specific kitchen layout during an estimate.

Yes, laminate (or Formica) countertops often come in precut sizes. It is important to measure your space and then do some research, or take the measurements to a local home improvement store to see if you can get the right size. If you do get precut laminate countertops, you may still have to cut holes for the sink and fixtures.

Marble countertops can last from 20 to 100 years, making them an excellent choice for anyone looking for durability. The life span depends on several factors, including how well you take care of your marble countertops. Marble is a porous material, so it can require more upkeep than other countertop options.
